Operating Instructions
Basic Arithmetic Operations
Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using the +, -, x, and ÷ keys. Press = to display the result.
- To clear the current entry, press CE/C.
- To clear all entries and memory, press ON/AC.
Fraction Calculations
The calculator supports fraction calculations in all four basic arithmetic types.
- To enter a fraction, use the ab/c key. For example, to enter 1/2, press 1 ab/c 2.
- To convert a fraction to a decimal and vice versa, press F↔D (located above the ab/c key, accessed with 2nd).
Trigonometric Functions
Perform trigonometric calculations (sine, cosine, tangent) and their inverses.
- Ensure the correct angle unit (degrees, radians, or grads) is selected. Press DRG to cycle through DEG (degrees), RAD (radians), and GRAD (grads). The current unit is displayed on the screen.
- Use SIN, COS, TAN for direct functions.
- For inverse trigonometric functions (sin-1, cos-1, tan-1), press 2nd followed by the respective trigonometric key.
One-Dimensional Statistics
The calculator can perform one-dimensional statistics, including mean, standard deviation, data sum, and square sum formation.
- To enter statistics mode, press 2nd then STAT (usually above a number key like 7 or 8, refer to your calculator's specific key layout).
- Enter data points using the DATA key (often Σ+).
- After entering data, use the statistics functions (e.g., x̄ for mean, σx for standard deviation) which are typically accessed via 2nd and other keys.
Coordinate Conversions
Convert between polar and rectangular coordinates, and degrees, minutes, seconds to decimal degrees.
- To convert polar to rectangular coordinates, use the P↔R function (accessed via 2nd).
- To convert degrees, minutes, and seconds to decimal degrees, use the DMS↔DD function (accessed via 2nd).
Memory Functions
The TI-30 ECO RS has 3 memory registers.
- To store a value: Enter the value, then press STO, followed by a number key (e.g., 1, 2, or 3) to select the memory register.
- To recall a value: Press RCL, followed by the number key corresponding to the desired memory register.
