1. Product Overview

The NEEWER GM27 Tripod Fluid Head is a compact yet robust pan-tilt head designed for smooth camera movements and precise leveling. It features a +/-10° leveling base, Arca-Type quick release plate, and a detachable telescopic handle, making it suitable for various photography and videography applications.

2. Package Contents

  • 1 x GM27 Fluid Tripod Head with Leveling Base
  • 1 x Quick Release Plate
  • 1 x 3/8" to 1/4" Threaded Adapter

3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Attaching to a Tripod

  1. Ensure your tripod has a 3/8" mounting screw. If not, use the provided 3/8" to 1/4" threaded adapter.
  2. Screw the fluid head onto your tripod's mounting screw until secure.

3.2 Attaching the Quick Release Plate to your Camera

  1. Locate the 1/4" screw on the Arca-Type quick release plate.
  2. Attach the quick release plate to the 1/4" tripod socket on the bottom of your camera. Tighten securely.

3.3 Mounting the Camera to the Fluid Head

  1. Loosen the Quick Release Plate Locking Knob on the fluid head.
  2. Slide the camera with the attached quick release plate into the fluid head's receiver. Ensure it clicks into place.
  3. Tighten the Quick Release Plate Locking Knob to secure the camera.

3.4 Attaching the Telescopic Handle

  1. The telescopic handle can be attached to either side of the fluid head for left or right-handed use.
  2. Screw the handle into the designated port on the side of the fluid head and tighten the hand-tighten locking knob.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Leveling the Fluid Head

  1. Loosen the Balance Base Locking Knob located at the base of the fluid head.
  2. Adjust the integrated leveling bowl to achieve a perfectly level camera position, using the built-in bubble level for accuracy. The leveling base allows for +/-10° adjustment.
  3. Tighten the Balance Base Locking Knob to secure the leveled position.

4.2 Panning and Tilting

  1. Panning (Horizontal Movement): Loosen the Panorama Locking Knob to allow 360° horizontal rotation. Tighten to lock the pan movement.
  2. Tilting (Vertical Movement): Loosen the Up & Down Locking Knob to adjust the camera's vertical angle from -55° to +90°. Use the telescopic handle for smooth control. Tighten to lock the tilt movement.

4.3 Adjusting the Telescopic Handle

  1. Loosen the Handle Telescopic Locking Knob.
  2. Extend or retract the handle to your desired length (from 14.5cm/5.7" to 24cm/9.5").
  3. Tighten the Handle Telescopic Locking Knob to secure the handle's length.

5. Maintenance

  • Keep the fluid head clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the fluid head to extreme temperatures or harsh chemicals.
  • Store the fluid head in a dry, cool place when not in use.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Problem: Camera movement is not smooth.
    Solution: Ensure all locking knobs (pan, tilt, and balance base) are sufficiently loosened. The fluid damping is fixed, but excessive tightening can restrict movement.
  • Problem: Camera feels unstable on the fluid head.
    Solution: Verify that the quick release plate is securely attached to the camera and the Quick Release Plate Locking Knob on the fluid head is fully tightened. Check that the fluid head is properly mounted to the tripod.
  • Problem: Handle is loose or not extending/retracting properly.
    Solution: Tighten or loosen the Handle Telescopic Locking Knob as needed. Ensure the handle is fully screwed into its mounting port.
