5. Setup
5.1 Unboxing and Placement
- Remove all packaging materials and protective films from the robot and the self-emptying base.
- Place the self-emptying base against a wall on a hard, level surface. Ensure there is at least 0.5 meters (1.6 feet) of clear space on both sides and 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) in front of the base.
- Connect the power cord to the self-emptying base and plug it into a power outlet.
5.2 Initial Charging
Place the robot onto the charging contacts of the self-emptying base. Ensure the charging contacts on the robot align with those on the base. The robot will automatically power on and begin charging. For first-time use, fully charge the robot before operation (approximately 4-5 hours).
5.3 App Installation and Connection
Download the Lydsto app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Follow the in-app instructions to connect your robot to your home Wi-Fi network. This will enable smart mapping, remote control, scheduling, and other advanced features.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your Lydsto R5 robot vacuum.
7.1 Emptying the Dust Bag in the Self-Emptying Base
- The 3L dust bag typically needs replacement every 40 days, depending on usage.
- Open the lid of the self-emptying base.
- Carefully pull out the full dust bag. The bag is self-sealing to prevent dust leakage.
- Insert a new dust bag into the compartment and close the lid.
7.2 Cleaning the Dustbin and Filter (Robot)
- Open the top cover of the robot and remove the 2-in-1 dustbin/water tank.
- Open the dustbin compartment and empty debris.
- Remove the HEPA filter and tap it gently to remove dust. Do not wash the HEPA filter with water.
- Rinse the dustbin with water (ensure the filter is removed first) and let it air dry completely before reinserting.
- Clean the filter regularly with the provided cleaning tool. Replace the HEPA filter every 3-6 months.
7.3 Cleaning Brushes
- Main Brush: Remove the main brush cover and lift out the main brush. Use the cleaning tool to cut and remove any tangled hair or debris. Reinstall the brush.
- Side Brushes: Unscrew the side brushes and remove any tangled hair. Reattach them. Replace side brushes every 3-6 months if worn.
7.4 Cleaning Sensors and Charging Contacts
- Wipe the cliff sensors (on the bottom of the robot), wall sensor (on the side), and charging contacts (on the robot and base) with a clean, dry cloth.
- Ensure the LDS laser sensor on top is free from obstructions.
7.5 Cleaning the Mop Pad and Water Tank
- After each mopping cycle, remove the mop pad from the mop module.
- Wash the mop pad thoroughly with water and mild detergent. Air dry completely before next use.
- Empty any remaining water from the water tank and rinse it. Allow it to air dry.
