2. Safety Information

WARNING: Read and understand all safety precautions before operating this generator. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.

  • Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generators produce carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless, poisonous gas. Operate generators outdoors only, far away from windows, doors, and vents.
  • Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all electrical connections are dry and secure.
  • Fire Hazard: Fuel is highly flammable. Do not refuel while the engine is running or hot. Store fuel in approved containers in a well-ventilated area.
  • Hot Surfaces: The generator's engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid contact.
  • COsense Technology: This generator is equipped with COsense Technology, which automatically shuts down the generator if hazardous levels of carbon monoxide are detected. Do not disable or bypass this safety feature.

3. Setup and Assembly

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the generator and all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in the packing list are present and undamaged. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

3.2 Adding Engine Oil

The generator is shipped without engine oil. Before first use, add the recommended type and amount of oil. Refer to the engine oil specifications section for details.

  1. Place the generator on a level surface.
  2. Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
  3. Remove the cap and slowly pour the recommended oil into the engine until it reaches the full mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
  4. Securely replace the oil fill cap.

3.3 Adding Fuel

Use only fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use E85 or any other fuel containing more than 10% ethanol.

  1. Ensure the generator is turned off and cool.
  2. Open the fuel cap.
  3. Slowly add gasoline to the fuel tank, being careful not to overfill. Leave space for fuel expansion.
  4. Securely replace the fuel cap.
