2. Safety Information

Operating a generator safely is paramount. Please read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating this unit. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.

Carbon Monoxide Hazard:

• Generators produce carbon monoxide (CO), an odorless, colorless, and poisonous gas.
• NEVER operate the generator indoors, in garages, basements, crawlspaces, or other enclosed areas.
• Always operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far away from windows, doors, and vents.
• The integrated COsense Technology will automatically shut down the generator if dangerous levels of carbon monoxide are detected. Do not disable or bypass this safety feature.

Electrical Safety:

• Do not operate the generator in wet conditions (rain, snow, standing water).
• Ensure all electrical connections are secure and in good condition.
• Never overload the generator. Refer to the specifications for maximum wattage.

Fuel Safety:

• Gasoline is highly flammable. Store fuel in approved containers in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
• Do not refuel the generator while it is running or hot. Allow it to cool down before adding fuel.
• Avoid spilling fuel. If spilled, wipe it up immediately and allow fumes to dissipate before starting the generator.

3. Setup Guide

Unpacking:

Carefully remove the generator and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect the unit for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

Adding Engine Oil:

The generator is shipped without engine oil. It is crucial to add the correct amount and type of oil before the first start-up. Refer to the oil capacity in the specifications section.

1. Place the generator on a level surface.
2. Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
3. Using the provided funnel, slowly add the recommended engine oil (typically 10W-30 for general use) until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
4. Securely replace the oil fill cap/dipstick.

Adding Fuel:

Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use E85 or any other fuel type.

1. Ensure the generator is turned off and cool.
2. Remove the fuel cap.
3. Carefully pour gasoline into the fuel tank, avoiding overfilling. Leave a small air gap at the top to allow for fuel expansion. The tank volume is approximately 1.06 gallons.
4. Securely replace the fuel cap.

Initial Checks:

• Verify that the oil level is correct.
• Confirm the fuel tank is adequately filled.
• Ensure the generator is placed on a firm, level surface outdoors, away from any structures or combustible materials.

4. Operating Instructions

Starting the Generator:

1. Ensure the generator is on a level surface and all electrical loads are disconnected.
2. Turn the fuel valve to the 'ON' position.
3. Move the choke lever to the 'CHOKE' position (if the engine is cold).
4. Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts.
5. Once the engine starts, slowly move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position.

Connecting Devices:

The GP3300i features various outlets for connecting your devices:

• Duplex Outlets: Standard 120V AC outlets for general appliances.
• 30A Twistlock Outlet: For higher power demands, such as RVs.
• USB Ports: Two USB ports for charging mobile devices.

Once the generator is running stably, you can plug in your electrical devices. Always ensure the total wattage of connected devices does not exceed the generator's running wattage (2500 Watts) or starting wattage (3300 Watts).

Economy Mode:

Activate Economy Mode to automatically adjust engine speed to match the load. This reduces fuel consumption and noise levels when full power is not required. The generator will automatically rev up when more power is needed.

Parallel Operation:

The GP3300i is parallel-ready, allowing you to connect two compatible Generac inverter generators together using a parallel kit (sold separately) to double your power output. Refer to the parallel kit's instructions for proper connection.

Stopping the Generator:

1. Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
2. Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
3. Turn the engine switch to the 'OFF' position.
4. Turn the fuel valve to the 'OFF' position for storage.

Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours or annually. Clean or replace if it is fouled, worn, or damaged. Ensure the correct gap is maintained.

Storage:

If storing the generator for more than 30 days, it is recommended to drain the fuel system or use a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation. Store the generator in a clean, dry place.
