Operating Your Echo Spot

Understanding the Display

The Echo Spot features a 2.83-inch touch-sensitive display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. This display allows you to easily view the time, weather forecast, music titles, and control smart home devices.

Voice Control with Alexa

The Echo Spot is powered by Alexa, Amazon's voice assistant. To activate Alexa, simply say the wake word "Alexa" followed by your command or question.

Privacy Features

The Echo Spot is built with multiple layers of privacy controls. These include a microphone off button, the ability to view and delete your voice recordings, and streaming indicators.

  • Microphone Off Button: To physically disconnect the microphones, simply press the microphone off button on top of the device. A red light will indicate that the microphones are off.
  • Voice Recording Management: You can view and delete your voice recordings through the Alexa app or by visiting the Alexa Privacy Portal.
  • Wake Word Technology: The device only begins recording and sending audio to the cloud after detecting the wake word.
