Setup

Filling the Mill

1. Unscrew and remove the top adjustment knob.
2. Carefully lift off the top part of the mill.
3. Fill the mill chamber with your desired salt crystals or dried herbs. Do not overfill.
4. Replace the top part, ensuring it sits correctly.
5. Screw the adjustment knob back on, but do not tighten it completely yet.

Operating

Adjusting Grind Size

The Zassenhaus mill features a continuous grind adjustment with 6 levels, from very fine (1) to coarse (6). To adjust the grind size:

1. Turn the adjustment knob clockwise for a finer grind.
2. Turn the adjustment knob counter-clockwise for a coarser grind.
3. Test the grind size by turning the mill over a plate until you achieve your desired consistency.

Grinding

Once the mill is filled and the grind size is set:

• Hold the mill firmly with one hand.
• With the other hand, twist the top part of the mill clockwise to activate the grinding mechanism.
• Continue twisting until the desired amount of ground salt or herbs is dispensed.

Maintenance

Cleaning

• To clean the exterior, wipe the oak wood body with a slightly damp cloth. Dry immediately.
• Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.
• The mill is not dishwasher safe. Immersion in water will damage the wood and mechanism.
• For the ceramic grinder, a small brush can be used to remove any residue.

Storage
