The alarm unit and magnetic strip must be mounted on the same plane (e.g., both on the door frame or both on the window frame) and aligned correctly for proper function. The gap between the two parts should be no more than 0.4 inches (10mm) when the door/window is closed.

7. Operating Modes

The AKOYU Wireless Door/Window Alarm features four distinct operating modes, selectable via the switch on the side of the unit:

  • Intruder Alarm Mode: When the door/window is opened, the 120dB siren will sound continuously for 1 minute. This mode is ideal for security against unauthorized entry.
  • Entry Doorbell Mode: When the door/window is opened, the alarm will emit a pleasant "Ding Dong" sound. This mode is suitable for welcoming guests or monitoring entry/exit in a business setting.
  • Open Alarm Mode: The alarm will sound when the door/window is opened and will continue to sound until the door/window is closed again. This is useful for situations where you need a persistent alert until the entry point is secured.
  • Unclosed Reminder Mode: If the door/window remains open, the alarm will emit a "beep beep" sound, with the volume gradually increasing. This mode serves as a reminder to close the door or window, preventing energy loss or accidental access.
