Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of your Vive Hydraulic Patient Lift. Designed for home use, this portable medical transfer system assists in moving individuals between various surfaces such as wheelchairs, beds, and chairs, reducing strain on caregivers. Please read all instructions carefully before assembly and operation.
The Vive Hydraulic Patient Lift features a robust design capable of supporting up to 400 pounds, ensuring secure transfers. Its heavy-duty hydraulic pump allows for effortless operation, eliminating the need for significant physical strength during lifting and lowering. The lift is constructed from corrosion-resistant alloy steel for long-lasting durability and includes premium safety features such as durable wheels and a strong, adjustable base.
Setup and Assembly
The Vive Hydraulic Patient Lift requires minimal assembly. Follow the steps below to ensure proper setup.

Operating Instructions
Lifting and Lowering
- To Lift: Position the patient in the sling. Ensure the hydraulic pump control lever is fully clockwise (towards the pump handle). Pump the hydraulic handle to gently raise the patient.
- To Lower: Slowly turn the hydraulic pump control lever counter-clockwise (away from the pump handle). The patient's weight will assist in a gradual and controlled descent.

Base Width Adjustment
The adjustable base provides stability and maneuverability. Press the left and right pedal adjusters with your foot to widen or narrow the base. This allows the lift to navigate through doorways and around furniture with ease, or to fit around commodes.

Patient Transfer
The 360-degree rotation cradle bar and multiple sling attachment points offer maximum flexibility and comfort during transfers, regardless of the patient's position. Always ensure the patient is securely positioned in the sling before initiating any movement.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe down the frame with a damp cloth and mild detergent regularly. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Hydraulic System: Periodically check the hydraulic pump for any leaks or signs of wear. Consult a professional if issues are detected.
- Casters: Keep the casters clean and free of debris to ensure smooth movement. Check brakes for proper function.
- Sling Care: Follow the washing instructions provided with your patient sling. Inspect slings for tears or damage before each use.
Troubleshooting
- Lift Not Raising/Lowering: Ensure the hydraulic pump control lever is correctly positioned (clockwise for lifting, slowly counter-clockwise for lowering). Check for any obstructions.
- Difficulty Moving Lift: Verify that the caster brakes are disengaged. Clean any debris from the wheels. Ensure the base width is appropriate for the pathway.
- Sling Attachment Issues: Confirm that the sling straps are correctly attached to the cradle bar's attachment points. Ensure the sling is compatible with the lift.
- Lift Does Not Go Low Enough: If the lift does not lower sufficiently to attach the sling from the floor, consider using a sling with longer straps or adjusting the patient's initial position if possible.
