5. Setup

5.1 Placement

Place the amplifier on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in enclosed spaces that could restrict airflow.

5.2 Connecting Speakers

The DAC-XA100 supports two pairs of speakers (A and B). Ensure your speakers are rated for 4 or 8 ohms impedance.

  1. Connect the positive (+) terminal of your speaker to the red (+) binding post on the amplifier.
  2. Connect the negative (-) terminal of your speaker to the black (-) binding post on the amplifier.
  3. Repeat for all speakers, ensuring correct polarity for optimal sound.

5.3 Connecting Audio Sources

The amplifier features 'Main' and 'Interrupt' RCA inputs, as well as a USB Audio input.

  • Main Input: Connect your primary audio source (e.g., TV, CD player) to the 'Main' RCA inputs.
  • Interrupt Input: Connect a secondary audio source (e.g., Bluetooth receiver, portable music player) to the 'Interrupt' RCA inputs. The amplifier will automatically switch to this source when it detects an incoming signal, and switch back to 'Main' when the 'Interrupt' signal stops.
  • USB Audio Input: Connect a USB cable from your computer or compatible device to the USB Type-A port for high-resolution digital audio playback.

5.4 Power Connection

Once all audio and speaker connections are made, connect the supplied power cord to the amplifier's power inlet and then to a suitable AC power outlet.

6. Operating

6.1 Powering On/Off

Press the Power button on the front panel to turn the amplifier on or off. The amplifier also features an Auto-On Sensing function, which will automatically turn the unit on when an audio signal is detected on the 'Main' or 'Interrupt' inputs.

6.2 Input Switching

The DAC-XA100 features automatic priority input switching:

  • If a signal is detected on the 'Interrupt' input, the amplifier will automatically switch to this source.
  • When the signal on the 'Interrupt' input ceases, the amplifier will automatically switch back to the 'Main' input.
  • The USB Audio input is selected manually or takes priority if active.

6.3 Speaker Selection

Use the A/B speaker selector buttons on the front panel to choose which pair of speakers (A, B, or both) you wish to play audio through.

6.4 Volume and Tone Control

  • Volume: Rotate the 'Volume' knob on the front panel clockwise to increase the volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
  • Balance: Adjust the 'Balance' knob to shift the audio output between the left and right channels.
  • Bass/Treble: Use the 'Bass' and 'Treble' control knobs located on the rear panel to fine-tune the low and high frequencies of your audio output.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DAC-XA100 amplifier, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
