4. Installation Instructions
This fan is designed for easy installation from the room-ceiling side, requiring no attic access. Ensure power is disconnected before starting.
4.1. Pre-Installation Check
- Verify that the ceiling opening is sufficient for the fan housing (7.6" x 7.3").
- If replacing an older fan, ensure the ceiling depth can accommodate the 6-inch housing height.
4.2. Installation Steps
- Connect Fan Wires to House Wires: Carefully connect the fan's electrical wires to the house wiring according to local electrical codes. Typically, white to white, black to black, and green (ground) to green.
- Connect the Duct to Housing: Attach the 4-inch ductwork to the fan housing's duct connector. Secure with appropriate clamps or tape to ensure an airtight seal.
- Mount the Fan Housing to the Joist: Securely mount the fan housing to a ceiling joist using the provided screws or other suitable fasteners. Ensure the housing is flush with the ceiling surface.
- Reattach the Fan Assembly: Once the housing is secured and wired, insert the fan motor assembly and reattach the grille.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your exhaust fan. Always disconnect power before cleaning.
6.1. Cleaning the Grille
- Remove the grille by gently pulling it down.
- Wash the grille with mild soap and water.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reattaching.
6.2. Cleaning the Fan Motor and Housing
- With the grille removed and power disconnected, use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris from the fan blades and interior of the housing.
- Wipe surfaces with a damp cloth if necessary, ensuring no moisture enters electrical components.
- The fan's DC motor is designed for long-lasting performance (over 25,000 hours) and typically requires no lubrication.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not operate. | No power, loose wiring, faulty switch. | Check circuit breaker. Verify all wire connections are secure. Test wall switch. |
| Fan is excessively noisy. | Loose mounting, debris in fan blades, damaged motor. | Ensure fan housing is securely mounted. Clean fan blades and housing. If noise persists, contact support. |
| Humidity sensor not activating. | Incorrect mode selected, humidity level below threshold. | Ensure fan is in Humidity Sensing Mode (green LED). Verify room humidity is above 60%. |
| Fan runs continuously in Humidity Sensing Mode. | Humidity level remains high, sensor malfunction. | Ensure proper ventilation to reduce humidity. If issue persists, contact support. |
