Setup
1. Charging the Battery
- Connect the charger to a standard power outlet.
- Slide the 18V Lithium-Ion battery pack onto the charger until it clicks into place.
- Allow the battery to charge fully. Refer to the charger's indicator lights for charging status.
- Once charged, remove the battery from the charger.
2. Installing the Battery
- Align the charged battery pack with the battery port on the pruning saw handle.
- Slide the battery into the port until it locks securely. Ensure it is firmly seated to prevent accidental dislodgement during operation.
3. Chain Lubrication
The pruning saw features onboard chain lubrication. Before first use and periodically during operation, ensure the oil reservoir is filled with appropriate chain lubricant.
- Locate the oil reservoir cap on the saw body.
- Unscrew the cap and carefully fill the reservoir with chain and bar oil. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the cap.

Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Operation Check
- Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely installed.
- Check the chain for proper tension (automatic tensioning system should handle this, but visual inspection is recommended).
- Verify the oil reservoir is adequately filled.
- Inspect the work area for potential hazards.
2. Starting and Stopping the Saw
- To start: Press and hold the safety lock-off button, then squeeze the trigger switch.
- To stop: Release the trigger switch. The chain will stop quickly.
3. Cutting Techniques
- General Cutting: Hold the saw firmly with both hands. Position the saw so the chain contacts the material to be cut. Apply steady, even pressure.
- Undercutting: The retractable bar and chain guard can be manually retracted to facilitate undercutting. Exercise extreme caution when performing undercuts.
- Branch Pruning: For smaller branches, a single cut may suffice. For larger branches, make an undercut first to prevent bark stripping, then complete the cut from the top.

Figure 5: On-the-Go Cutting. The image shows the pruning saw in action, cutting a branch, highlighting its suitability for various outdoor tasks.

Figure 6: Retractable Guard for Undercutting. This image illustrates how the guard can be retracted to allow for easier undercutting.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your pruning saw.
1. Cleaning
- After each use, remove the battery and clean the saw thoroughly.
- Use a brush or compressed air to remove sawdust, chips, and debris from the chain, bar, and motor housing vents.
- Wipe down external surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
2. Chain Sharpening and Replacement
- A dull chain will reduce cutting efficiency and increase strain on the motor. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when necessary.
- Refer to a qualified service technician for chain sharpening or replacement if you are unsure how to perform these tasks safely.
3. Storage
- Always install the blade sheath over the bar and chain before storing.
- Store the saw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children and unauthorized users.
- Remove the battery pack from the tool before long-term storage.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Saw does not start | Battery not charged or improperly installed. Safety lock-off not engaged. | Ensure battery is charged and securely installed. Press safety lock-off button before squeezing trigger. |
| Reduced cutting performance | Dull chain. Insufficient chain lubrication. | Sharpen or replace chain. Refill chain oil reservoir. |
| Saw stops during operation | Battery depleted. Overload protection activated. | Recharge battery. Reduce cutting pressure; allow motor to cool if overheated. |
| Excessive vibration | Damaged chain or bar. Loose components. | Inspect chain and bar for damage; replace if necessary. Check for loose screws or parts. |
