4. Setup
4.1. Battery Installation (Excavator)
- Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the excavator.
- Use the provided screwdriver to open the battery compartment cover.
- Connect one of the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries to the excavator's power connector.
- Carefully place the battery inside the compartment and close the cover, securing it with the screw.

4.2. Battery Installation (Remote Control)
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
- Use the provided screwdriver to open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 2 AA batteries (not included) into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the cover and secure it with the screw.

4.3. Pairing the Remote Control
- Ensure both the excavator and the remote control have fresh or fully charged batteries installed.
- Turn on the excavator using the power switch.
- Turn on the remote control. The indicator light on the remote will flash.
- Push the left joystick on the remote control fully forward, then fully backward. The indicator light on the remote will stop flashing and remain solid, indicating successful pairing.
- If pairing fails, turn off both devices and repeat the steps.

The right joystick controls the excavator's arm and bucket:
- Push the right joystick up or down to raise or lower the main arm.
- Move the right joystick left or right to control the secondary arm and open/close the metal bucket for digging and unloading.

5.4. Sound and Light Functions
