  • Control Panel: Located on the top of the unit, used to set desired humidity, operating modes, and timer.
  • Air Inlet Grille: Where air is drawn into the unit for dehumidification. (Typically located at the back or sides).
  • Air Outlet Grille: Where dry air is expelled from the unit. (Typically located at the top or front).
  • Water Tank: Removable tank for collecting condensed water.
  • Continuous Drainage Outlet: Port for connecting a hose for continuous water drainage (hose not included).
  • Wheels/Castors: For easy mobility of the unit.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport. Check for any damage during transit.
  2. Placement: Place the dehumidifier upright on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is at least 20 cm (8 inches) of clear space around the unit to allow for proper airflow. Do not place it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  3. Power Connection: Ensure the water tank is correctly inserted. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  4. Continuous Drainage (Optional): If you prefer continuous drainage, remove the rubber stopper from the continuous drainage outlet (usually at the back or side) and connect a suitable drainage hose (not supplied). Ensure the hose is sloped downwards to allow water to drain by gravity into a floor drain or larger container.

5. Operating Instructions

The Vortice Deumido 20L offers simple operation through its control panel.

  1. Power On/Off: Press the POWER button to turn the unit on or off.
  2. Setting Desired Humidity: Use the HUMIDITY or SET buttons (or similar, depending on control panel design) to adjust the desired humidity level. The unit will operate until the ambient humidity reaches the set level, then cycle off. It will restart when humidity rises. Typical settings range from 40% to 60% relative humidity.
  3. Operating Modes: The unit supports Automatic and Continuous operating modes.
    • Automatic Mode: The dehumidifier will automatically adjust its operation to maintain the set humidity level.
    • Continuous Mode: The dehumidifier will run continuously, regardless of the ambient humidity, until the water tank is full or the unit is manually turned off. This mode is useful for very damp environments or for drying clothes.
  4. Fan Speed: This model has 1 speed. The fan operates at a fixed speed during dehumidification.
  5. Timer Function (if available): If your model includes a timer, use the TIMER button to set a specific duration for the unit to operate before automatically turning off, or to set a delay for the unit to turn on.
  6. Full Water Tank Indicator: When the water tank is full, the unit will automatically shut off, and an indicator light will illuminate. Empty the water tank and reinsert it correctly for the unit to resume operation.
  7. Defrost Function: The dehumidifier is equipped with an automatic defrost function. If frost builds up on the evaporator coils, the unit will temporarily stop dehumidifying and run the fan to melt the frost. This is normal operation.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.

  1. Cleaning the Air Filter:
    • The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.
    • Turn off and unplug the dehumidifier.
    • Remove the air filter (typically located at the back or side air inlet).
    • Wash the filter with warm, soapy water, or use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust.
    • Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reinstalling. Do not use the unit without the filter.
  2. Emptying and Cleaning the Water Tank:
    • When the tank is full, the unit will stop operating. Carefully pull out the water tank.
    • Empty the collected water.
    • Clean the tank periodically with mild detergent and water to prevent mold and mildew growth. Rinse thoroughly.
    • Reinsert the tank firmly into the unit.
  3. Cleaning the Exterior:
    • Wipe the exterior of the dehumidifier with a soft, damp cloth.
    • Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the surface.
  4. Storage:
    • If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure the water tank is empty and clean, and the filter is clean and dry.
    • Wrap the power cord neatly.
    • Store the dehumidifier in an upright position in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
