Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
2. Placement: Place the machine on a flat, stable surface. Ensure adequate clearance around the machine for ventilation and access.
3. Water Tank: Fill the water tank with fresh, cold filtered water. Insert the water filter into the filter holder and place it in the water tank.
4. Bean Hopper: Fill the bean hopper with fresh, whole coffee beans.
5. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded power outlet.
6. Initial Start-up: Follow the on-screen prompts for the initial setup, including water hardness testing and first-use rinse cycle.

Operating Instructions

Making Espresso:

1. Select Drink: Use the touchscreen to select your desired coffee beverage (e.g., Espresso, Americano, Latte, Flat White, Cappuccino).
   

   Swipe and select your desired drink from the intuitive touchscreen display.

2. Grinding and Dosing: Insert the portafilter into the grinding cradle. The machine will automatically grind and dose the correct amount of coffee. The Impress Puck System provides real-time feedback.
   

   The Impress Puck System simplifies manual espresso preparation.

3. Tamping: The assisted tamping lever will automatically apply the correct pressure to the coffee grounds. The machine will also auto-correct the next dose if needed.
   

   Assisted tamping ensures a consistent dose for optimal extraction.

4. Extraction: Insert the portafilter into the group head. Place your cup(s) under the spouts. Press the brew button on the touchscreen to begin extraction. The ThermoJet heating system ensures rapid heat-up.
5. Milk Texturing (for milk-based drinks): Place the milk jug with cold milk under the steam wand. The Auto MilQ feature will automatically texture the milk to your desired temperature and texture. You can select milk type (dairy, almond, oat, soy) for optimized results.
   

   Auto MilQ provides hands-free milk texturing for silky smooth microfoam.

Grind Settings:

The integrated Baratza European Precision Burrs offer 30 grind settings. Adjust the grind size via the touchscreen to optimize extraction for your coffee beans. Finer grinds are typically for slower extractions, and coarser grinds for faster ones.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and performance of your espresso machine.

• Daily Cleaning: Empty and clean the drip tray. Wipe down the steam wand after each use with a damp cloth. Clean the portafilter and filter baskets.
• Weekly Cleaning: Backflush the group head using the cleaning disc and a cleaning tablet. Clean the bean hopper and grinder burrs.
• Descaling: The machine will prompt you when descaling is required. Use the provided descale powder and follow the on-screen instructions. Descaling removes mineral buildup from the internal components.
• Water Filter Replacement: Replace the water filter every 2-3 months, or as indicated by the machine.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your machine, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

• No Power: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check the circuit breaker.
• No Water Flow: Check if the water tank is filled and properly seated. Ensure the water filter is not clogged. Descale the machine if prompted.
• Poor Espresso Extraction: Adjust the grind size. If the shot pulls too fast, make the grind finer. If too slow, make it coarser. Ensure the portafilter is properly tamped and inserted.
• No Steam/Poor Milk Frothing: Ensure the steam wand is not clogged. Use the steam wand cleaning tool to clear any blockages. Ensure the milk jug is filled with cold milk.
