- Eco-Mode: Maximizes fuel economy by adjusting engine speed based on load.
2. Safety Information
Your safety is paramount. Always adhere to the following safety guidelines:
- Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generators produce carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless gas that can kill you. ALWAYS operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far from windows, doors, and vents. Never operate indoors, in a garage, or in any enclosed space.
- Fire Hazard: Fuel is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or use open flames near the generator.
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure proper grounding.
- Hot Surfaces: The generator's engine and muffler become very hot during operation. Avoid contact to prevent burns.
- Read the Manual: Familiarize yourself with all controls and features before operating.

4. Setup
4.1 Adding Engine Oil
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Locate the oil fill cap (Figure 4).
- Remove the oil fill cap and dipstick.
- Carefully pour the recommended SAE 10W-30 engine oil into the oil fill opening using the provided funnel. The oil capacity is 0.63 quarts (0.6L).
- Check the oil level using the dipstick; it should be at the upper limit.
- Replace the oil fill cap securely.

4.2 Adding Fuel
This model operates on gasoline. Ensure the engine is off and cool before adding fuel.
- Locate the fuel tank cap (Figure 4).
- Unscrew the fuel tank cap.
- Carefully pour fresh, unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane) into the fuel tank. Do not overfill; leave space for fuel expansion. The tank volume is 1.9 gallons.
- Securely replace the fuel tank cap.
4.3 Grounding the Generator
Always ground the generator before operation to prevent electrical shock. Connect a grounding wire (not included) from the generator's grounding terminal to an external grounding rod or suitable ground source.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Control Panel Overview

Figure 5: Detailed view of the control panel, showing various outlets, switches, and the Data Meter.
The control panel (Figure 5) features:
- Data Meter: Displays voltage, frequency, runtime, and fuel level.
- Eco-Mode Switch: Toggles between standard and eco-friendly operation.
- Reset Button: Resets the generator in case of overload.
- 120V NEMA 5-20R Receptacles (x4): Standard household outlets.
- 120V TT-30R RV Receptacle (x1): For RV applications.
- DC 12V Receptacle (x1): For 12-volt DC devices.
- DC 5V USB Ports (x2): For charging small electronic devices.
- Parallel Connect Ports: Allows connection of two WEN inverter generators for increased power (requires WEN Parallel Connection Kit, sold separately).
- Grounding Terminal: For safe operation.
5.2 Starting the Generator (Recoil Start)
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and properly grounded.
- Check oil and fuel levels.
- Turn the 4-in-1 switch (Figure 6) to the CHOKE position.
- Gently pull the recoil starter handle 3-5 times to prime the engine.
- Quickly pull the recoil starter handle to start the engine.
- Once the engine starts, slowly turn the 4-in-1 switch to the RUN position.

Figure 6: Side view of the generator, highlighting the recoil start mechanism and the 4-in-1 switch for choke/run/fuel off/engine off.
5.3 Connecting Devices
Once the generator is running, you can connect your electrical devices to the appropriate outlets on the control panel. Ensure the total wattage of connected devices does not exceed 4000 rated watts.
5.4 Eco-Mode Operation
Engage the Eco-Mode switch (Figure 5) to allow the generator's engine to automatically adjust its fuel consumption based on the load. This conserves fuel and reduces noise when full power is not required.
5.5 Stopping the Generator
- Disconnect all electrical devices from the generator.
- Turn the 4-in-1 switch to the FUEL OFF position. Allow the engine to run until it stops from lack of fuel (this drains the carburetor).
- Once the engine has stopped, turn the 4-in-1 switch to the ENGINE OFF position.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your generator.
6.1 Fuel Shutoff Feature
The fuel shutoff feature is designed to minimize maintenance by allowing the generator to use up remaining fuel from the carburetor before shutting down. This prevents the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel, which can prolong the unit’s lifespan.
6.2 Oil and Air Filter Access
To access the oil and air filter for maintenance, remove the designated access panel. This allows for quick and easy oil changes and air filter cleaning/replacement.
7. Troubleshooting
If your generator encounters issues, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Engine Not Starting: Check fuel level, oil level, spark plug condition, and ensure the 4-in-1 switch is in the correct position (CHOKE for starting, then RUN).
- No Power Output: Check if circuit breakers have tripped (reset if necessary). Ensure devices are properly connected and not exceeding the generator's wattage capacity.
- CO Watchdog Shutdown: If the CO Watchdog sensor activates, move the generator to a well-ventilated outdoor area. Allow it to cool down and clear any CO buildup before restarting.
- Overload: If the overload indicator light is on, disconnect some devices to reduce the load. Press the reset button on the control panel.
For more detailed troubleshooting, consult the full user manual or contact customer support.
