1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your HmmtyRack Roof Rack Cross Bars. These cross bars are designed to enhance your vehicle's cargo carrying capabilities, allowing for the transport of various items that may not fit inside your vehicle.
Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure safe and correct application of the product.
2. Vehicle Compatibility
These cross bars are compatible with Jeep Grand Cherokee models from 2011 to 2022 that feature roof black moldings only. This includes JGC Altitude, High Altitude, SRT, Trackhawk, and 80th Anniversary models with black plastic moldings.
Important: Verify your vehicle's year, make, and model, and confirm the presence of roof black moldings before proceeding with installation.
3. Package Contents
Ensure all components listed below are present in your package:
- Crossbar x2
- Base x4
- Key x2
- Allen Wrench x2
- Instruction Manual x1
Kindly Reminder: Please double check the package box when you open the package to see if the instruction and key were stuck to the bottom of the box.
4. Setup & Installation
The installation process is designed to be straightforward and can be completed with a screwdriver. The front crossbar is intentionally longer than the rear to accommodate the vehicle's dimensions.

Figure 4.1: Front (longer) and Rear (shorter) Cross Bars. The front bar is 44.09 inches, and the rear bar is 43.31 inches.
Installation Steps:
- Open the End Cap Cover: Use the provided key to unlock and open the end cap cover on each cross bar.
- Remove Rubber Strips: Carefully take out the rubber strips located inside the cross bar channel.
- Loosen Preassembled Bolts: Using the Allen wrench, loosen the preassembled bolts on the cross bar. Do not remove the bolts completely; ensure they remain connected to the bracket.
- Place Bracket into Grooved Side Rail: Position the bracket into the grooved side rail of your vehicle's roof. Ensure the outer bolt is loosened enough to allow the bracket to slide into the rail without extending out of the bottom nut.
- Tighten the Bolts: Once the bracket is correctly positioned, tighten the bolts using the Allen wrench. Note: Do not use an electric drill to avoid cross-threading.
- Check All Bases: After tightening, ensure all four bases are securely fastened and tight.
- Replace Rubber Strips and Close End Cap: Place the rubber strips back into the cross bar channel and close the end cap cover, locking it for security.

5. Operating Instructions
Load Capacity:
The HmmtyRack Roof Rack Cross Bars have a maximum load capacity of 100 kg (220 lbs). Do not exceed this weight limit to ensure safety and prevent damage to your vehicle or the cross bars.

Cargo Transport:
These cross bars are suitable for transporting various items, including roof bags, roof boxes, bike carriers, surfboards, kayaks, canoes, sporting goods, ladders, and luggage.
Aerodynamic Design:
The cross bars feature an aerodynamic streamline design to minimize wind resistance and air noise during travel.

Sunroof Clearance:
The design provides high clearance, allowing your vehicle's sunroof to open and close without obstruction.

Figure 5.3: High clearance ensures the sunroof can operate freely.
6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and safe operation of your HmmtyRack Roof Rack Cross Bars, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Regular Tightness Checks: Periodically check all mounting bolts and connections to ensure they remain tight. Loose components can lead to instability and potential damage.
- Cleaning: Clean the cross bars with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Inspection: Inspect the cross bars for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion, especially after long trips or heavy use. Replace any damaged parts immediately.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your roof rack, consider the following:
- Loose Cross Bars: If the cross bars feel loose, re-tighten all mounting bolts as per the installation instructions.
- Excessive Wind Noise: Ensure the aerodynamic profile is correctly oriented (round head facing front, pointy head facing rear). Check that all components are securely fastened.
- Difficulty Installing: Refer to the detailed installation video and ensure you are using the correct front and rear bars for their respective positions.
