Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare Vehicle: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and the parking brake is engaged. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for safety.
  2. Remove Grille: Carefully remove the front grille. Locate and undo any screws, clips, or retainer springs that secure the original headlight in place.
  3. Detach Old Headlight: Disconnect the wiring harness from the stock headlight and carefully detach the old headlight assembly from the vehicle.
  4. Install New Headlight: Position the new WEELMOTO headlight assembly into the opening. Ensure it fits securely.
  5. Connect Wiring: Reconnect the wiring harness to the new assembly. Ensure all connections are secure and properly sealed.
  6. Secure Assembly: Fasten the new headlight assembly using the original screws, clips, or retainer springs.
  7. Reinstall Grille: Carefully reattach the front grille.
  8. Reconnect Battery: Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

Adjusting Headlight Beams:

The headlights are pre-adjusted from the factory. However, if the light pattern is unsatisfactory, you can adjust the beam angle manually.

  1. Preparation: Park your car on a flat surface, approximately 25 feet (7.6 meters) from a flat wall. Mark the center points of each headlight on the wall with tape.
  2. Adjustment: Block one headlight to focus on adjusting the other. Locate the adjustment screws on top of each bulb. Turn these screws as needed to align the light pattern. The bright spots should be centered in the middle of the 'X' marks on the wall, and the light pattern should be even below the horizontal line.
  3. Caution: Do NOT adjust the screws more than three times in either clockwise or counter-clockwise direction to avoid damaging the housing.

6. Operation

The WEELMOTO Headlights Assembly functions identically to your vehicle's original lighting system. It includes:

  • High Beam: Provides maximum illumination for clear, open roads.
  • Low Beam: Standard illumination for general driving, designed to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic.
  • Turn Signal: Integrated amber reflector and bulb for signaling turns.
  • Parking Light: Provides illumination when parked or for increased visibility.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your headlights.

Cleaning:

Clean the headlight lenses regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the polycarbonate lens or UV coating.

Addressing Condensation:

It is normal for headlight lenses to experience temporary misting or condensation due to temperature differences, air pressure changes, or weather conditions. This does not indicate a defect.

Image 7.1: Location of the one-way vent for condensation management.

To drive away temporary condensation:

  1. Check Vents: Ensure the one-way vents in the housing are not blocked.
  2. Activate Lights: Turn on the low beam headlights for approximately 20 minutes. The heat generated by the bulbs will help dissipate the moisture.
  3. Inspect Bulbs: If condensation persists, carefully remove the bulbs and clear any visible mist.
  4. Silica Gel: For persistent issues, placing a silica gel packet inside the housing (if accessible and secure) can help absorb moisture.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your WEELMOTO Headlights Assembly, please refer to the following common solutions:

Lights Not Functioning:

  • Check Connections: Ensure all wiring harnesses are securely connected to the headlight assembly and the vehicle's electrical system.
  • Inspect Bulbs: Verify that the HB5 (9007) bulbs are properly seated and not burnt out. Replace if necessary.
  • Check Fuses: Consult your vehicle's owner's manual to locate and inspect the relevant headlight fuses in the fuse box. Replace any blown fuses.
  • Vehicle Electrical System: If the issue persists, there may be a problem with your vehicle's electrical system, such as a faulty switch or relay. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
