OLEVS G6617 Automatic Mechanical Watch

Figure 1: OLEVS G6617 Automatic Mechanical Watch (Black Dial, Two-Tone Bracelet)

This image displays the OLEVS G6617 watch with a black dial, gold accents, and a two-tone metal bracelet. The watch features a skeletonized movement visible on the dial, moon phase, day, and date subdials, and Roman numeral hour markers. A watch band adjustment tool is also shown alongside the watch.

2. Initial Setup and Winding

Your OLEVS G6617 is an automatic mechanical watch, meaning it is powered by the natural motion of your arm and does not require a battery. For initial setup or if the watch has stopped, follow these steps:

  1. Manual Winding: If the watch has stopped, gently turn the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times while it is in its normal, pushed-in position (not pulled out). This will manually wind the mainspring and start the watch.
  2. Automatic Winding: Once started, wear the watch for at least 8 hours a day. The natural movement of your arm will keep the watch wound and operating normally.
  3. Luminous Function Activation: To activate the luminous hands and markers, expose the watch dial to a strong light source (such as a phone flashlight) for 30-40 seconds.

3. Operating Instructions

The OLEVS G6617 features multiple functions including time, day, date, and moon phase. Refer to the diagram below for crown and button locations.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and smudges. For the metal bracelet, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Water Exposure: While water-resistant, avoid prolonged exposure to water, especially hot water or steam, as this can compromise the seals. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
  • Avoid Chemicals: Do not expose the watch to harsh chemicals, solvents, or detergents, as these can damage the case, strap, or internal components.
  • Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, certain electronic devices) as they can affect the accuracy of the mechanical movement.
  • Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, as this can impact its performance and lifespan.
  • Storage: When not wearing the watch, store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original box or a watch case to protect it from dust and scratches.
