3. Setup and Assembly
3.1 Battery Installation (Battery Sold Separately)
The Kärcher GSH 4-4 Plus requires a Kärcher Battery Power 4/25 rechargeable battery (not included). Ensure the battery is fully charged before use.
- Ensure the tool's safety switch is engaged (OFF position).
- Align the charged Kärcher Battery Power 4/25 battery with the battery slot at the base of the handle.
- Push the battery firmly into the slot until it clicks into place.
- To remove, press the battery release button and pull the battery out.
3.2 Blade Attachment and Removal
The tool features a quick-change system for blades. Always ensure the battery is removed before changing blades.
- To remove a blade: Press the blade release button (usually located near the blade attachment point) and carefully slide the blade off.
- To attach a blade: Align the desired blade (shrub or lawn) with the tool's attachment mechanism. Slide the blade into place until it clicks securely. Ensure it is firmly seated.

4. Operating Instructions
Always ensure you are wearing appropriate safety gear before operating the tool.
4.1 Starting and Stopping the Tool
- To start: Engage the safety switch and then press the power trigger.
- To stop: Release the power trigger. The safety switch will automatically disengage.
4.2 Shrub Trimming
Use the 11 cm shrub blade for shaping and trimming bushes.
- Hold the tool firmly with both hands if possible, or one hand if comfortable and safe.
- Move the tool smoothly along the shrub, allowing the blades to cut through branches.
- Avoid cutting branches thicker than recommended (refer to specifications for maximum cutting diameter).
4.3 Lawn Edging
Use the 8 cm lawn blade for precise cutting of lawn edges along paths, flower beds, and around obstacles.
- Position the tool with the lawn blade parallel to the edge you wish to trim.
- Move the tool steadily along the edge, ensuring a clean cut.
- For extended reach and comfortable standing operation, a telescopic lance (available separately) can be used.

4.4 Battery Life Indicator
The LED display on the handle shows the remaining battery life. Monitor this indicator to ensure uninterrupted work. A fully charged Kärcher Battery Power 4/25 battery provides up to 60 minutes of operation.
5. Maintenance and Storage
5.1 Cleaning
- Always remove the battery pack before cleaning.
- Clean the blades immediately after each use to prevent sap and debris buildup. Use a stiff brush and a damp cloth.
- Wipe the tool body with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure all parts are dry before storage.
5.2 Blade Care
- The blades are laser-cut and diamond-sharpened for optimal performance.
- Regularly inspect blades for damage or dullness. Replace worn or damaged blades.
- Apply a light coat of machine oil to the blades after cleaning to prevent rust, especially before long-term storage.
5.3 Storage
- Store the tool with the blade guard in place to protect the blades and prevent injury.
