5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the clock (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Insert one (1) AA/LR6 battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Initial Time Setting (Radio Control)

After inserting the battery, the clock will automatically attempt to receive the radio time signal. This process may take a few minutes. Once the signal is received, the clock will set itself to the correct time, including automatic adjustment for daylight saving time (summer/winter time).

  • Place the clock near a window for better signal reception.
  • Avoid placing it near electronic devices that may cause interference.

5.3 Manual Time Setting (If Radio Signal Unavailable)

If a radio signal is not available (e.g., during travel or in areas with poor reception), you can set the time manually:

  1. Press and hold the 'SET' button on the back of the clock.
  2. While holding 'SET', rotate the time setting knob (usually located near the 'SET' button) to adjust the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
  3. Release the 'SET' button when the correct time is displayed.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Setting the Alarm Time

  1. Locate the alarm setting knob on the back of the clock (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Rotate this knob to move the small alarm hand to your desired wake-up time.

6.2 Activating/Deactivating the Alarm

  • To activate the alarm, slide the alarm ON/OFF switch (refer to Figure 2) to the 'ON' position.
  • To deactivate the alarm, slide the alarm ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position.

6.3 Crescendo Alarm Function

When the alarm is activated, the alarm sound (beep) will start softly and gradually increase in intensity and frequency, ensuring a gentle wake-up that becomes more insistent if not turned off.

6.4 Snooze Function

When the alarm sounds:

  • Press the large button on the top of the clock (labeled 'SNOOZE/LIGHT').
  • The alarm will pause for approximately 5 minutes and then sound again.
  • You can repeat the snooze function multiple times.
  • To permanently turn off the alarm, slide the alarm ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position.

6.5 Dial Illumination

To temporarily illuminate the clock face in the dark:

  • Press the large button on the top of the clock (labeled 'SNOOZE/LIGHT').
  • The dial will light up for a few seconds, allowing you to read the time (refer to Figure 4).
  • The hour and minute hands also feature luminous material for visibility in low light conditions.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the clock with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the casing or dial.

7.2 Battery Replacement

Replace the AA/LR6 battery when the clock's functions (e.g., illumination, alarm volume) become weak or stop working. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1.
