1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the POPULO PIWL-2005A Cordless Impact Wrench. This manual provides important information regarding the safe operation, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new tool. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

The POPULO 20V Cordless Impact Wrench is designed for various fastening and loosening tasks, offering powerful performance with its 1/2-inch chuck, 270Nm torque, and up to 3,000 impacts per minute. It is suitable for automotive repairs, construction projects, and general maintenance.

2. Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

2.1 Work Area Safety

  • Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
  • Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  • Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2.2 Electrical Safety

  • Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way.
  • Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

2.4 Power Tool Use and Care

  • Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation.

2.5 Battery Tool Use and Care

  • Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer.
  • Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs.
  • When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects.

4. Setup and Assembly

4.1 Charging the Battery

  1. Connect the fast charger to a standard power outlet.
  2. Slide the 2.0Ah Li-ion battery pack onto the charger until it clicks into place.
  3. The battery LED indicator on the battery pack will show the charging status. Allow the battery to fully charge before first use.
  4. Once fully charged, disconnect the charger from the power outlet and remove the battery pack.

Note: The battery LED indicator allows you to quickly check the power status and know when it needs recharging.

4.2 Attaching/Detaching the Battery Pack

  1. To attach: Align the battery pack with the base of the impact wrench and slide it in until it locks securely.
  2. To detach: Press the release button on the battery pack and slide it out from the tool.

4.3 Attaching/Detaching Impact Sockets

  1. Ensure the tool is off and the battery is removed for safety.
  2. Push the desired 1/2" drive impact socket onto the 1/2" anvil until it is firmly seated.
  3. To remove, simply pull the socket off the anvil.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off and Variable Speed Control

  • To power on: Squeeze the variable speed trigger. The tool's speed will increase as you press the trigger further.
  • To power off: Release the variable speed trigger. The quick brake function will stop the rotation.
  • The tool offers a stepless variable speed of 0-2900 RPM, allowing precise control for different applications.

5.2 Forward and Reverse Operation

  • Locate the forward and reverse lever above the trigger.
  • Push the lever to the left for forward rotation (tightening fasteners).
  • Push the lever to the right for reverse rotation (loosening/removing fasteners).
  • Ensure the lever is in the center position to lock the trigger and prevent accidental startup when not in use.

5.3 LED Work Light

The built-in LED work light automatically illuminates when the trigger is pressed, improving visibility in dimly lit work areas.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your impact wrench.

6.1 Cleaning

  • Always disconnect the battery pack before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the tool's exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Keep the ventilation openings clear of dust and debris to prevent overheating. Use compressed air if necessary.

6.2 Battery Care

  • Store battery packs in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Do not store battery packs in a discharged state for extended periods. Recharge them periodically if not in use.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting battery packs to heavy impacts.

6.3 General Inspection

  • Periodically check for loose screws, damaged cords, or worn parts.
  • If any damage is found, do not operate the tool. Contact customer support for assistance.
