4. Setup

4.1 Assembly

The LETMY Solar Pathway Lights are designed for simple assembly. No additional tools are required.

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Locate the main light unit and the ground stake.
  3. Connect the ground stake to the bottom of the light unit. Ensure it is securely fastened. The light unit and stake are designed to fit together firmly.
  4. Before initial use, gently twist and remove the top cap of the light unit to access the power switch. Turn the switch to the 'ON' position. Replace the top cap, ensuring it is sealed properly to maintain water resistance.

4.2 Placement

Optimal placement is crucial for the performance of your solar lights.

  1. Choose a location that receives direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily. This ensures the solar panel can fully charge the battery.
  2. Avoid placing lights under trees, bushes, or near buildings that may cast shadows, as this will reduce charging efficiency.
  3. Ensure the ground is soft enough to insert the ground stake without excessive force. If the ground is hard, moisten it or use a tool to create a pilot hole to prevent damage to the stake.
  4. Insert the assembled light unit firmly into the ground.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Automatic Operation

Once assembled and placed in a suitable location with the switch in the 'ON' position, your LETMY Solar Pathway Lights will operate automatically:

  • Daytime: The solar panel on top of the light unit will absorb sunlight and convert it into electrical energy, charging the internal Ni-MH battery.
  • Nighttime: An integrated light sensor will detect the onset of darkness, and the lights will automatically turn on, providing illumination.
  • Morning: As dawn approaches and ambient light increases, the lights will automatically turn off and begin recharging for the next night.

The lights are designed to provide 8-12 hours of illumination on a full charge, depending on the amount of sunlight received during the day.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your solar pathway lights, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning the Solar Panel: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, leaves, or snow. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and charging efficiency.
  • Battery Replacement: The rechargeable Ni-MH battery has a lifespan of several years. If you notice a significant decrease in illumination time after ensuring adequate sunlight exposure, the battery may need replacement. Use a compatible Ni-MH rechargeable battery.
  • Environmental Conditions: While the lights are IP65 waterproof and weather-resistant, extreme conditions (e.g., prolonged heavy snow, severe storms) may temporarily affect performance. Ensure the lights are not submerged in water.
  • Structural Integrity: Periodically check the ground stakes and light units for any signs of damage or loosening. Secure them as needed.
