Setup
Unpacking
- Carefully remove the iron from its packaging.
- Remove any labels or protective film from the soleplate.
- Inspect the iron for any signs of damage. Do not use if damaged.
First Use Preparation
- Before first use, fill the water tank and heat the iron to its maximum temperature.
- Operate the steam function several times over an old cloth to remove any manufacturing residues.
- It is normal for a slight odor or smoke to be emitted during the first use; this will dissipate quickly.
Operating Instructions
Filling the Water Tank
- Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet.
- Set the steam control slider to the "Dry" position.
- Open the water filling inlet cover.
- Using a measuring cup, carefully pour tap water into the water tank up to the "MAX" fill line. Do not overfill.
- Close the water filling inlet cover securely.
Setting Temperature and Ironing
- Plug the iron into a suitable power outlet.
- Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting based on the fabric type (refer to garment care labels).
- The indicator light will illuminate, indicating the iron is heating.
- Once the indicator light turns off, the iron has reached the set temperature and is ready for use.
- For dry ironing, ensure the steam control slider is in the "Dry" position.
- For steam ironing, set the steam control slider to the desired steam level (Low or High Steam) once the iron has reached the appropriate temperature (usually higher settings).
- To use the spray function, press the spray button. Ensure there is water in the tank.
- For a powerful burst of steam, press the steam shot button. This is useful for stubborn creases or vertical steaming.
After Use
- Turn the temperature control dial to the "MIN" position.
- Unplug the iron from the power outlet.
- Allow the iron to cool down completely before storing.
- Empty any remaining water from the tank to prevent mineral buildup.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your iron.
Cleaning the Soleplate
- Ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool.
- Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner if necessary.
- Do not use abrasive scouring pads or metal cleaners, as these can scratch the soleplate.
Descaling (Self-Clean Function)
To remove mineral deposits and maintain steam performance, use the self-clean function periodically (e.g., monthly, depending on water hardness).
- Fill the water tank to the "MAX" line.
- Plug in the iron and set the temperature dial to maximum.
- Once the indicator light turns off, unplug the iron.
- Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
- Press and hold the self-clean button (if available, otherwise use steam shot repeatedly) to flush hot water and steam through the soleplate holes.
- Gently shake the iron back and forth until the water tank is empty.
- Plug the iron back in, heat it up, and iron an old cloth to dry the soleplate.
Storage
- Ensure the iron is cool and empty of water.
- Store the iron upright on its heel rest in a safe, dry place.
- Do not wrap the power cord tightly around the iron.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Iron not heating. | Not plugged in; power outlet faulty; temperature dial set to MIN. | Check power connection; try another outlet; turn temperature dial to desired setting. |
| No steam or insufficient steam. | Water tank empty; temperature too low; steam control set to DRY; mineral buildup. | Fill water tank; set temperature higher (e.g., cotton/linen); move steam control to steam setting; perform descaling. |
| Water leaking from soleplate. | Temperature too low for steam; water tank overfilled; steam control not fully closed for dry ironing. | Allow iron to reach full temperature before steaming; do not overfill; ensure steam control is on DRY for dry ironing. |
| Iron sticking to fabric. | Temperature too high for fabric; soleplate dirty. | Adjust temperature according to fabric type; clean the soleplate. |
