3. Setup and First Use

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the ice maker from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any damage. Ensure all accessories, including the ice scoop and ice basket, are present.

3.2 Placement

Place the ice maker on a flat, stable surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit. The compact dimensions of 14.1 x 9.1 x 11.8 inches (35.56 x 23.11 x 29.97 cm) allow it to fit in various kitchen or office settings.

3.3 Initial Preparation

  1. Before plugging in, allow the ice maker to stand upright for at least 12 hours. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
  2. Clean the interior of the ice maker according to the "Cleaning and Maintenance" section.
  3. Fill the water tank with potable water up to the maximum fill line. The water tank has a 2-liter capacity.

The ROTTOGOON ice maker features an intuitive LED touch control panel. Indicators on the panel will show when to add water or when the ice basket is full. The panel also includes buttons for power, setting the timer, and adjusting ice cube size.

4.2 Making Ice

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled with potable water.
  2. Press the Power Button to turn on the unit.
  3. Select your desired ice cube size (small or large) using the Size Selection Button.
    • Small Ice Cubes: Ideal for chilling food, beer, or for use in ice packs.
    • Large Ice Cubes: Recommended for beverages to maintain flavor without excessive dilution.
  4. The ice maker will begin producing bullet-shaped ice cubes. The first cycle may produce thinner ice; subsequent cycles will yield thicker ice.
  5. Ice production typically takes 6-12 minutes for 9 cubes. The unit can produce 26-33 pounds of ice per 24 hours.
  6. When the ice basket is full, the "Ice Full" indicator will illuminate, and the unit will pause. Remove ice to resume production.
  7. When the water level is low, the "Add Water" indicator will illuminate. Add more potable water to the tank.

4.3 Time Reservation Function

The LED control panel includes a time reservation function, allowing you to set a delayed start time for ice production. This feature ensures ice is ready when needed without manual intervention.

  1. With the unit in standby mode, press the Set Button (often represented by a clock icon).
  2. Use the adjustment buttons to set the desired delay time (e.g., 10 hours).
  3. Confirm the setting. The unit will automatically start ice production after the set delay.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning is essential to ensure the longevity and hygienic operation of your ice maker. Periodic cleaning helps prevent the buildup of harmful substances and ensures safe ice production.

5.1 Self-Cleaning Function

  1. Ensure the unit is in standby mode and the water tank is filled with potable water.
  2. Press and hold the Ice Making Button (often the power button or a dedicated clean button) for 3 seconds.
  3. The unit will initiate a self-cleaning cycle.
  4. After the cycle, drain the water and rinse the interior.

Note: Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not immerse the unit in water.
