4.2 Power Connection
Connect the supplied USB A-to-B cable to the USB Type-B port on the MIDIPHILER II. Connect the other end to a 5V USB power source (e.g., a computer USB port or a standard 5V USB power adapter). Do not use QuickCharge chargers as they can supply higher voltages and damage the device.
4.3 Initial Connection
For USB MIDI mode, connect the MIDIPHILER II to your computer using the USB A-to-B cable. The device is plug-and-play and typically does not require special drivers for most operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).

5. Operating Modes
The MIDIPHILER II offers three distinct operating modes, selectable via the 'Model SW' button.
5.1 MIDI Thru (Splitter) Mode (4i/4o)
In this mode, the device acts as a MIDI splitter. MIDI signals received at one input can be routed to multiple outputs. This mode operates standalone.
- Function: Distributes MIDI input to multiple MIDI outputs.
- Inputs Used: In A, In B, In C, In D
- Outputs Used: Out A, Out B, Out C, Out D
- Operation: Press the 'Model SW' button until the corresponding LED indicator for MIDI Thru mode is active. Connect your MIDI source to an 'In' port and your MIDI destinations to the 'Out' ports.
5.2 MIDI Merge Mode (2i/4o)
This mode combines MIDI signals from two input sources into a single stream, which can then be sent to up to four outputs. This mode operates standalone.
- Function: Combines MIDI signals from two inputs and routes them to four outputs.
- Inputs Used: Typically In A and In B (refer to QIG for specific port mapping in this mode).
- Outputs Used: Out A, Out B, Out C, Out D
- Operation: Press the 'Model SW' button until the corresponding LED indicator for MIDI Merge mode is active. Connect your two MIDI sources to the designated 'In' ports and your MIDI destinations to the 'Out' ports.
5.3 USB MIDI Interface Mode (4i/4o)
In this mode, the MIDIPHILER II acts as a standard USB MIDI interface, allowing your computer to communicate with up to four MIDI input devices and four MIDI output devices.
- Function: Provides 4 MIDI inputs and 4 MIDI outputs for computer-based music production.
- Inputs Used: In A, In B, In C, In D
- Outputs Used: Out A, Out B, Out C, Out D
- Operation: Connect the MIDIPHILER II to your computer via the USB Type-B port. Press the 'Model SW' button until the corresponding LED indicator for USB MIDI mode is active. Your computer should recognize the device as a multi-port MIDI interface.
5.4 Mode Switching
The 'Model SW' button cycles through the available operating modes. Observe the LED indicators to confirm the active mode. Each mode will have a distinct LED pattern or dedicated LED to indicate its selection.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Avoid liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Handling: The metal chassis is durable, but avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts.
