Maintenance and Care

Proper care ensures the longevity and performance of your electric blanket.

Washing Instructions:

  • Disconnect: Always unplug the blanket from the wall outlet and detach both controllers from the blanket before washing. Ensure all cords are completely disconnected.
  • Pre-soak (Optional): For best results, pre-soak the blanket for 15 minutes in mild soap and lukewarm water.
  • Machine Wash: Machine wash on a gentle or delicate cycle in cold water (maximum 86°F / 30°C). Do not bleach. The unique dyeing technique helps prevent fading.
  • Rinse: Rinse on a normal cycle.
  • Spin Dry: Spin dry on a slow speed to remove excess water.

Drying Instructions:

  • Line Dry: Drape the blanket over a clothesline or shower rod. Do not use clothespins on the heating wires.
  • Tumble Dry: If using a dryer, tumble dry on a low heat setting for a maximum of 5 minutes. Remove while still damp and air dry completely. Do not iron.
  • Ensure Complete Dryness: Ensure the blanket is completely dry before reconnecting the controllers and plugging it back in.

Storage:

When not in use, store the blanket loosely folded or rolled in a cool, dry place. Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the blanket, as this can damage the internal wiring.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your electric blanket, please refer to the following common solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Blanket not heating or controller not turning on.Loose connection, power outage, or internal safety shut-off.Ensure controllers are firmly plugged into the blanket and the wall outlet. Check if the outlet is functional. Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in to reset.
Blanket not warm enough on low settings.Low heat setting selected.Increase the heat level using the TEMP + button. For initial warmth, use the PREHEAT function. Note that electric blankets provide a gentle warmth, not intense heat.
Controller display is too bright. No auto-dim feature on the controller.Turn the controller upside down or cover the display to block the light if it is disruptive.
Timer setting resets or doesn't behave as expected after preheating.Controller defaults to 8 hours and accounts for prior run time.If you preheat and then want a specific shorter timer, turn the blanket OFF and then ON again after preheating. This resets the timer to 8 hours, allowing you to set your desired duration from that point.
Blanket feels too hot or overheats.High heat setting, or safety feature activated.Reduce the heat setting. The blanket has an automatic 8-hour shut-off and overheat protection. If it feels excessively hot, turn it off immediately and unplug it.
