Operating Instructions
1. First Time Opening
Upon first use, the key box will be in an unlocked state or require initial access.
- Using Spare Keys: Insert one of the provided spare keys into the keyhole on the keypad panel and turn it to open the door.
- Using External Battery Box: If the internal batteries are not yet installed or depleted, connect the external battery box to the port on the keypad panel. This will provide temporary power to open the lock.
2. Battery Installation
Once the door is open, locate the battery compartment inside the door. Install the required batteries (typically AA or AAA, not included) according to the polarity markings.
3. Setting/Changing User Code
The key box comes with a default code. It is highly recommended to change this to a personal code immediately.
- With the door open, locate the reset button (often a small button on the inside edge of the door or near the hinge).
- Press the reset button. The keypad should indicate it is ready for programming (e.g., a beep or flashing light).
- Enter your desired new code (typically 3-8 digits) on the keypad.
- Confirm the code by pressing the 'E' or '#' button. The keypad should confirm successful programming (e.g., a series of beeps).
- Test the new code with the door open to ensure it works correctly before closing the door.
