Setup & Installation

1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection

  1. Carefully remove the key box from its packaging.
  2. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage. If damaged, contact customer support immediately.
  3. Ensure all package contents listed above are present.

2. Wall Mounting

For enhanced security, the key box can be bolted to a wall. Choose a suitable, sturdy location.

  1. Identify the desired mounting location on a solid wall surface.
  2. Hold the key box against the wall and mark the positions of the 2 pre-drilled holes on the back.
  3. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. The type of drill bit and hole size will depend on your wall material (e.g., concrete, wood studs).
  4. Insert the provided expansion screws into the drilled holes. Note: These screws are typically suitable for concrete or masonry. For drywall, appropriate drywall anchors (not included) may be required.

Operating Instructions

1. First Time Opening

Upon first use, the key box will be in an unlocked state or require initial access.

  • Using Spare Keys: Insert one of the provided spare keys into the keyhole on the keypad panel and turn it to open the door.
  • Using External Battery Box: If the internal batteries are not yet installed or depleted, connect the external battery box to the port on the keypad panel. This will provide temporary power to open the lock.

2. Battery Installation

Once the door is open, locate the battery compartment inside the door. Install the required batteries (typically AA or AAA, not included) according to the polarity markings.

3. Setting/Changing User Code

The key box comes with a default code. It is highly recommended to change this to a personal code immediately.

  1. With the door open, locate the reset button (often a small button on the inside edge of the door or near the hinge).
  2. Press the reset button. The keypad should indicate it is ready for programming (e.g., a beep or flashing light).
  3. Enter your desired new code (typically 3-8 digits) on the keypad.
  4. Confirm the code by pressing the 'E' or '#' button. The keypad should confirm successful programming (e.g., a series of beeps).
  5. Test the new code with the door open to ensure it works correctly before closing the door.

  • Locate the key return slot on the side of the key box.
  • Carefully insert the key into the slot. The key will drop into the interior of the box.
  • This feature prevents unauthorized access to the main key cabinet while allowing for convenient key returns.

The key box is designed for efficient key management.

  • Numbered Key Slots: Utilize the 160 numbered slots to assign specific locations for each key.
  • Colorful Key Tags: Attach the provided key tags to your keys and label them for quick identification. The varied colors can also aid in categorization.
