Setup and Installation
The X-Sense SC01-W detector is designed for easy setup and installation. It features a 10-year sealed lithium battery that activates automatically upon mounting, eliminating the need for manual battery insertion.
Activation and Initial Test
The device's 10-year battery is sealed and activates automatically when the unit is mounted onto its mounting bracket. Upon activation, the device will perform a self-test, indicated by a series of light flashes (red, orange, green) and beeps. The LCD display will show "0 PPM" for carbon monoxide when no threat is detected.

Operating Instructions
Testing the Alarm
Regular testing ensures your detector is functioning correctly. There are several methods to test your X-Sense alarm:
- Short Press Test/Silence Button (Highly Recommended): Press the Test/Silence button briefly. The device will beep, indicating proper functioning of sensors, electronic circuits, buzzer, and battery. If silent, it may indicate a battery failure or other issues.
- Use a Smoke Detector Tester: Apply a smoke detector tester spray towards the smoke inlets. Ensure to follow the guidelines on the spray can for distance and spraying time. The alarm should sound.
- Use Smoke to Conduct the Test: Direct smoke towards the smoke inlets, ensuring ample concentration and sustained exposure (more than 20 seconds). The alarm should sound.

Important: Do not test the smoke alarm using an open flame. This may damage the alarm or ignite nearby flammable materials, potentially causing a building fire.
LCD Display and Self-Check
The LCD display provides real-time information on carbon monoxide levels (PPM) and battery status. In standby mode, the display remains off to ensure peaceful sleep, only lighting up during alarms or tests.

The detector performs a self-check every 60 seconds to ensure ongoing reliability of its battery and sensors. This feature helps maintain optimal performance without user intervention.

Maintenance
Battery Life and Replacement
The X-Sense SC01-W is equipped with a 10-year sealed lithium battery. This means the battery is designed to last the entire lifespan of the unit, and it cannot be replaced. Once the unit reaches the end of its 10-year life, it will signal the end-of-life and needs to be replaced entirely.
To deactivate the alarm unit until the end-of-life signal has been heard, locate the "DIS" setting on the back of the unit. Move the plastic pin upwards to deactivate the alarm. Note that deactivating the unit will render it permanently unusable.
Troubleshooting
If your alarm sounds during a test but then goes silent, it may indicate a battery failure or other internal issues. Ensure the unit is properly activated and mounted. If problems persist, refer to the user manual or contact X-Sense customer support.
