6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
To clean your scale, wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the surface.

When the battery indicator appears on the display or the display becomes dim, it's time to replace the batteries. Follow the instructions in Section 4.1 to replace the 3 AAA batteries. Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
6.3 Storage
Store the scale in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing it vertically or with heavy objects on top, as this may affect its accuracy over time.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| "CAL" displayed, then "0.0" after 2 seconds. | Scale was placed in a non-horizontal position or moved before weighing. | The displayed weight is incorrect. Step on the scale again to get the correct weight. Ensure the scale is on a flat, hard surface. |
| Inaccurate or inconsistent readings. | Scale is on an uneven or soft surface (e.g., carpet). Scale was moved between measurements. | Place the scale on a hard, flat floor. Avoid moving the scale between weigh-ins. If moved, allow it to recalibrate by stepping on and off once before taking a measurement. |
| No display or dim display. | Batteries are low or incorrectly installed. | Replace the 3 AAA batteries. Check battery polarity. |
| "Err" message. | Overload beyond maximum capacity (400lb/182kg). | Step off the scale immediately. The scale's capacity is 400lb/182kg. |
