4.2 Initializing and Formatting (if necessary)
For most operating systems (Windows 7+, Mac OS 10.11+, Android), the SSD should be recognized automatically. If the drive does not appear, you may need to initialize and format it.
- Windows: Open Disk Management (right-click 'This PC' > 'Manage' > 'Disk Management'). Locate the SSD, initialize it (GPT recommended for 1TB), and then create a new simple volume, formatting it with NTFS or exFAT.
- Mac: Open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility). Select the SSD, click 'Erase', choose a name, format (APFS or Mac OS Extended for Mac, exFAT for cross-platform), and scheme (GUID Partition Map).
- Android: Most Android devices will prompt you to format the drive upon connection. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: Formatting will erase all data on the drive. Back up any important data before proceeding.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Data Transfer

7. Troubleshooting
- SSD Not Detected:
- Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the SSD and your device.
- Try a different USB port or cable.
- Check Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac) to see if the drive is visible but uninitialized/unformatted. Refer to Section 4.2.
- Restart your computer or device.
- Slow Transfer Speeds:
- Ensure your device's USB port supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) or at least USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps) for optimal performance. Older USB 2.0 ports will limit speeds.
- Verify that your operating system has the latest drivers.
- Close other applications that might be using system resources or the drive.
- Ensure the SSD is not overheating. The aluminum casing is designed for efficient heat dissipation.
- Blue Indicator Light Not On:
- Check cable connections.
- Try a different USB port or device to rule out a power issue from the host.
