Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your oviitech mechanical timer:
- Prepare the Pins: The timer dial has 48 pins. Each pin represents a 30-minute interval. To begin, ensure all pins are in the UP position (OFF).
- Set ON Times: Press the pins DOWN for the periods you want your connected appliance to be ON. For example, if you want a light to turn on from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, push down the pins corresponding to those hours.
- Set Current Time: Rotate the entire dial clockwise until the current time aligns with the arrow indicator on the timer's face. The dial is marked with hours (1-12 AM/PM).
- Select Operating Mode: Use the slide switch on the side of the timer to select your desired mode:
- OUTLET ON: Provides continuous power to the connected devices, bypassing the timer function.
- TIMER ON: Activates the programmed on/off schedule.
- Plug In: Insert the timer into a standard 3-prong grounded wall outlet.
- Connect Appliance: Plug your appliance(s) into the grounded outlets on the sides of the timer. Ensure the appliance's power switch is in the ON position.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Appliance does not turn on/off at programmed times. | Pins not set correctly, manual override switch in wrong position, appliance switch is off. | Ensure pins are pushed down for ON times and up for OFF times. Check that the manual override switch is set to TIMER ON. Verify the appliance's power switch is ON. |
| Timer dial is not rotating. | Timer not plugged in, power outage, internal malfunction. | Ensure the timer is securely plugged into a live outlet. If there was a power outage, manually reset the current time. If the issue persists, the unit may be faulty. |
| Timer loses accuracy or schedule after a power outage. | Mechanical timers do not have battery backup for timekeeping. | After a power outage, manually reset the current time on the dial to ensure accurate scheduling. |
| Timer makes a slight humming or clicking noise. | Normal operation for mechanical timers. | This is typical for mechanical timers and does not indicate a defect. |
