Setup and Installation

The COMOMY baby gate offers two installation methods: pressure mounted and hardware mounted. Choose the method appropriate for your location.

Pre-Installation Check

Before installation, note that gaps between the door lock and frame are normal and will close after proper installation. Do not cut the retaining tie until installation is complete.

Method 1: Pressure Mounted Installation

This method is ideal for doorways and hallways where drilling is not desired. Ensure the surface is flat and stable.

  1. Insert the tension bolts into the four corners of the gate.
  2. Position the gate in the desired opening.
  3. Rotate the tension bolts to tighten them against the walls until the gate is secure.
  4. Check the visual indicator: it should turn green, confirming proper pressure and secure installation.
  5. Once secure, carefully cut off the zip-tie.

For stair railings with non-flat surfaces (rhombic, round, or square columns), use the provided Y-shape tension bolts.

Method 2: Hardware Mounted Installation

For extra stability, especially at the top of stairs, hardware mounting is recommended.

  1. Locate and mark four points for drilling on the wall or banister.
  2. Drill holes at the marked points. Insert the dry wall anchors (if applicable) and fix the wall cups with screws.
  3. Attach the gate to the installed wall cups.
  4. Check the visual indicator: it should turn green, confirming secure installation.
  5. Once secure, carefully cut off the zip-tie.

Operating Instructions

Dual Locking Mechanism

The gate features a dual-locking mechanism for enhanced safety, requiring two actions to open.

  1. Lock 1: Push the top button down.
  2. Lock 2: Simultaneously lift the gate handle.
  3. Once both locks are disengaged, the door can be opened.

Dual Direction Opening & Auto-Close

The gate door swings open in both directions for convenience. It also features an auto-close function.

  • The gate will automatically close when the opening angle is less than 90 degrees.
  • To keep the gate open, swing it past 90 degrees, and it will remain in the open position.
  • The anti-pinch hinges are designed to prevent accidental pinching during operation.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the gate with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
  • Regular Checks: Periodically inspect all parts for wear, damage, or loose connections. Ensure all bolts are tightened and the gate operates smoothly.
  • Tension Adjustment: The red/green visual indicator on the gate serves as a reminder to adjust the tension bolts. If the indicator shows red, tighten the bolts until it turns green, ensuring the gate remains securely mounted.

Troubleshooting
