1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper use and maintenance of your UNIWEIGH Milligram Scale 50g/0.001g. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the device to ensure accurate measurements and prolong its lifespan.

The UNIWEIGH Milligram Scale is designed for high-precision weighing of small items, offering a maximum capacity of 50g with an accuracy of 0.001g. It is suitable for various applications including weighing powders, medicine, jewelry, gems, herbs, and for reloading purposes.

2. Package Contents

Verify that all items are present in the package:

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the underside of the scale.
  2. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2 Placement

For accurate measurements, place the scale on a stable, flat, and level surface. Avoid areas with vibrations, drafts, or extreme temperature changes.

4. Operation

4.1 Power On/Off

Press the ON/OFF button (Power button icon) to turn the scale on or off. The LCD display will show "0.000g" when ready for use.

4.2 Unit Conversion (MODE Function)

Press the MODE button (Mode button icon) to cycle through the available weighing units: grams (g), grains (gn), ounces (oz), troy ounces (ozt), carats (ct), and pennyweights (dwt).

4.3 Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, so only the weight of the contents is measured.

  1. Place an empty container on the weighing platform.
  2. Press the TARE button (Tare button icon). The display will reset to "0.000g".
  3. Add the items to be weighed into the container. The display will show the net weight of the items.

4.4 Counting Function (PCS)

The PCS function allows you to count small granular items.

  1. Turn on the scale and ensure it reads "0.000g".
  2. Press and hold the PCS button (PCS button icon) until a sample size (e.g., "25", "50", "75", "100") appears.
  3. Press the MODE button to select the desired sample size.
  4. Place the exact number of items corresponding to the selected sample size onto the platform.
  5. Press the PCS button again. The display will show "PCS" and the count of the items.
  6. You can now add more items, and the scale will count them based on the sample.

4.5 Wind-Shelter

The scale features a protective flip cover that acts as a wind-shelter. This helps to protect the delicate load cell and prevent external environmental influences (like air currents) from affecting weighing accuracy, especially for milligram measurements.

5. Calibration

It is recommended to calibrate the scale before first use and periodically thereafter, or if you suspect inaccurate readings. Use the provided 50g calibration weight.

  1. Turn the scale on and wait for it to display "0.000g".
  2. Press and hold the MODE button until the display shows "CAL". Release the button.
  3. Press the MODE button again. The display will flash "50.000g".
  4. Carefully place the 50g calibration weight onto the center of the weighing platform.
  5. Wait for the display to show "PASS" and then return to normal weighing mode. Calibration is complete.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the scale with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water. Keep the weighing platform clean and free of debris.

6.2 Storage

Store the scale in a clean, dry environment. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity. Ensure the protective flip cover is closed when not in use to protect the weighing mechanism.

7. Troubleshooting
