This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your VTech LS6381-2 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone System. Setup
- Install Handset Batteries: Open the battery compartment cover on each handset. Connect the battery pack connector securely into the jack inside the compartment. Place the battery pack with the label facing up and close the cover.
- Connect the Base Unit:
- Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the back of the base unit.
- Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into a telephone wall jack.
- Plug the small end of the base unit AC adapter into the POWER jack on the back of the base unit.
- Plug the large end of the AC adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
- Connect the Handset Charger: Plug the small end of the handset charger AC adapter into the POWER jack on the back of the charger. Plug the large end into a standard electrical outlet.
- Charge Handsets: Place each handset face forward in its respective base unit or charger. The CHARGE light on the handset will illuminate, indicating proper charging. Allow at least 16 hours for the initial charge.
Operating Instructions
Handset Overview
Each cordless handset features a backlit display and keypad for easy visibility. Key buttons include:
- CALL/FLASH: Make or answer a call; answer a call waiting call.
- HOME/FLASH: Make or answer a landline call.
- CELL: Make or answer a cellular call.
- REDIAL/PAUSE: View the last 10 numbers dialed; insert a dialing pause.
- VOLUME: Adjust listening volume during a call; scroll through menus.
- MUTE/DELETE: Mute the microphone during a call; delete displayed entries.
- CALL BLOCK: Block unwanted calls.
- OFF/CANCEL: End a call; cancel an operation; return to previous menu.

Base Unit Overview
The base unit serves as the central hub for your phone system and includes an integrated Bluetooth speaker.
- Bluetooth Speaker: Stream music or use for conference calls.
- Speakerphone: Full-duplex speakerphone for hands-free conversations.
- Message Counter: Displays the number of new messages.
- PLAY/STOP: Play or stop messages.

Making and Receiving Calls
Your phone system supports both landline and cellular calls.
- Landline Calls: Press HOME/FLASH to make or answer a call using your landline service.
- Cellular Calls (Connect to Cell): Pair up to two cell phones via Bluetooth to the base unit. Press CELL on the handset to make or answer a call using your cellular plan. You can also access mobile smart assistants like Siri or Google Now through the handsets.

Smart Call Blocker
The Smart Call Blocker feature helps filter out unwanted calls, including robocalls. Robocalls are automatically blocked from ringing through, even on the first attempt. You can also manually add up to 1,000 names and numbers to a blacklist.
- Blocking a Call: During a call or after reviewing Caller ID history, press the CALL BLOCK button on the handset to add the number to the block list.
