- Ensure there are no studs, pipes, or electrical wires in the desired installation area.
- Verify sufficient depth within the wall cavity.
4.1.2. New Construction Installation
- Mount the enclosure directly to a wall stud using appropriate fasteners (not included).
- Ensure the enclosure is flush with the stud face.
- Run necessary wiring into the enclosure before drywall installation.
4.1.3. Retrofit Installation

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed, the On-Q Media Enclosure and Mounting Plate function as a passive storage and organization system for your AV and structured wiring components.
- Device Placement: Place compatible devices such as Samsung One Connect Box, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, or network switches onto the mounting plate or directly within the enclosure.
- Cable Routing: Utilize the integrated cable channels and hook and loop straps to manage and secure all power and data cables, preventing tangles and ensuring proper airflow.
- Access: The split cover allows for easy access to devices and wiring when maintenance or changes are required.
6. Maintenance
The On-Q Media Enclosure and Mounting Plate require minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the enclosure and cover with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Occasionally inspect cables and connections within the enclosure to ensure they are secure and undamaged.
- Ventilation: Ensure that the enclosure's ventilation points are not obstructed to maintain proper airflow for internal devices.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1. Wi-Fi Signal Issues
- Symptom: Weak or intermittent Wi-Fi signal from devices inside the enclosure.
- Solution: While the enclosure is Wi-Fi transparent, dense packing of multiple devices or certain wall materials can affect signal. Ensure devices are positioned optimally and consider external antenna options if available for your devices.
7.2. Devices Not Fitting
- Symptom: A device is too large or awkwardly shaped to fit comfortably.
- Solution: Utilize the AC1050-EMK Mounting Plate for elevated mounting, which can create more space. Experiment with different orientations of the device. Ensure the device's dimensions are compatible with the 17-inch enclosure.
7.3. Cable Management Difficulties
- Symptom: Cables are messy or difficult to route.
- Solution: Make full use of the AC1052-CC Cable Channels and the provided hook and loop strap. Plan your cable runs before securing devices. Consider using shorter cables where possible.
