This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your Retevis NR630 professional two-way radio. The NR630 is designed for reliable communication, featuring IP67 waterproofing, intelligent noise reduction, and a long-lasting battery. Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the radio is powered off.
  2. Align the Lithium-ion battery with the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
  3. Press the battery firmly until it clicks into place.

2. Antenna Attachment

  1. Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

3. Charging the Radio

Before first use, fully charge the radio's 2800mAh Lithium-ion battery.

  1. Connect the USB-C charging cable to the charging base and then to a power source.
  2. Place the radio into the charging base. The indicator light on the base will show charging status.
  3. A full charge typically takes several hours. The indicator light will change when charging is complete.

4. Earpiece and Belt Clip Attachment

  1. To attach the earpiece, open the rubber cover on the side of the radio and firmly insert the earpiece plug.
  2. Slide the belt clip onto the designated slot on the back of the radio until it locks securely.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Volume Control

  1. To power on the radio, rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click.
  2. Continue rotating the knob to adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
  3. To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks.

2. Channel Selection

The NR630 supports 32 channels. Use the Channel Selector knob on top of the radio to choose your desired channel. Ensure all radios in your group are on the same channel for communication.

3. Transmitting and Receiving (PTT)

  1. To transmit, press and hold the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone.
  2. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.
  3. The radio will automatically receive transmissions when the PTT button is not pressed.

4. VOX Function (Hands-Free Operation)

The Voice Operated Exchange (VOX) function allows you to transmit without pressing the PTT button. This feature is particularly useful when using the earpiece.

5. One-Key Group Call

The NR630 features a dedicated button for initiating a group call, allowing you to communicate with multiple team members simultaneously.

  1. Press the designated Group Call button (refer to your radio's layout for exact button).
  2. Speak into the microphone to broadcast your message to all radios on the same group call setting.

6. Alarm Function

The radio includes local and remote alarm functions for emergency situations. Consult the full user manual for details on how to activate and configure these alarms.

7. Intelligent Noise Reduction

The NR630 features intelligent two-way noise reduction technology. This system automatically identifies human voices and ambient noise, reducing background interference and preserving voice clarity during communication.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

The NR630 is IP67 waterproof, allowing it to withstand submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. To clean the radio:
