Once installed and paired, the Tapo T110 provides real-time status updates (open/closed) via the Tapo app. You will receive instant alerts on your phone if a monitored door or window is unexpectedly opened.

4.2 Smart Actions

The Tapo T110 can serve as a trigger for Smart Actions within the Tapo app. This allows you to automate other Tapo smart devices based on the sensor's status. For example, you can program the sensor to:

  • Turn lights on or off when a door is opened or closed.
  • Disable your Tapo security camera when you open a door.
  • Activate the Tapo Hub's 90dB ringer as a warning or deterrent.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

The Tapo T110 operates on a single CR2032 battery, offering up to 2 years of performance with typical usage (less than 30 triggers per day). When the battery is low, the Tapo app will notify you. To replace the battery, gently open the sensor casing and swap the old battery with a new CR2032 battery, ensuring correct orientation.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Sensor Not Responding

  • Check Battery: Ensure the CR2032 battery is properly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
  • Check Hub Connection: Verify that your Tapo Hub is online and connected to your Wi-Fi network. The sensor communicates exclusively through the hub.
  • Proximity: Ensure the sensor and magnet are within the recommended 15mm gap when closed.
  • Re-pair: If issues persist, try re-pairing the sensor with your Tapo Hub via the Tapo app.

6.2 Notifications Not Received

  • App Settings: Check notification settings within the Tapo app for the specific sensor.
  • Phone Settings: Ensure notifications are enabled for the Tapo app in your phone's system settings.
