Setup
1. Battery Installation
Ensure the battery is fully charged before use. The Spit P18 operates on an 18V battery (not included).
- Align the battery pack with the receptacle on the bottom of the tool handle.
- Slide the battery pack into the tool until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove, press the battery release button(s) and slide the battery out.

2. Bit Installation
The tool uses standard screwdriver bits suitable for drywall screws.
- Ensure the tool is switched off and the battery is removed.
- Insert the desired screwdriver bit into the chuck at the front of the tool.
- Push the bit firmly until it locks into place.
- To remove, pull the chuck collar forward and pull the bit out.

Operating Instructions
General Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the trigger switch to start the tool. Release the trigger to stop.
- Direction of Rotation: Use the forward/reverse selector switch, usually located above the trigger, to select the desired rotation direction (clockwise for fastening, counter-clockwise for loosening).
- Depth Adjustment: The P18 features an adjustable nose cone for precise depth setting of screws. Rotate the nose cone to adjust the screw depth. Test on a scrap piece of material first.
- Fastening Drywall Screws:
- Place the screw on the bit.
- Position the screw tip on the drywall and apply firm, steady pressure to the tool.
- Press the trigger. The tool will drive the screw until the preset depth is reached, then the clutch will disengage.
- Release the trigger and lift the tool from the screw head.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the ventilation openings of the tool with a soft brush or compressed air. Do not use water or chemical cleaners.
- Bit Holder: Keep the bit holder clean and free of debris to ensure proper bit seating.
- Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not store fully discharged batteries for extended periods.
- Storage: When not in use, store the tool in its carrying case in a dry, secure location out of reach of children.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the tool for any signs of damage, loose screws, or worn parts. If damage is found, have it repaired by a qualified service technician.
