Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the polisher/buffer from its packaging. Inspect the tool for any signs of damage during shipping.
  2. Air Supply Connection:
    • Ensure your air compressor can provide sufficient air pressure and volume (CFM) for the tool's requirements. Refer to the tool's specifications for recommended air pressure.
    • Attach a suitable air hose (not included) to the tool's air inlet. Use thread sealant tape on the air inlet threads to ensure an airtight connection.
    • Connect the other end of the air hose to your air compressor's regulated output.
  3. Pad Installation:
    • Ensure the tool is disconnected from the air supply.
    • Align the desired polishing or buffing pad with the tool's backing plate. The 314-B typically uses a 7-inch composite pad.

Operating Instructions

  1. Preparation:
    • Ensure the workpiece is clean and properly secured.

  2. Connecting Air: Connect the air hose to the tool and turn on the air compressor. Adjust the air regulator to the recommended operating pressure.
  3. Starting the Tool: Hold the tool firmly with both hands. Depress the trigger to start the tool. The variable speed feature allows you to control the RPM by adjusting the trigger pressure.
  4. Polishing/Buffing:
    • Place the rotating pad flat against the surface of the workpiece.
    • Move the tool in a consistent, overlapping pattern across the surface. Avoid applying excessive pressure, as this can lead to uneven results or damage to the surface.
    • For best results, maintain a steady speed and even pressure.
  5. Stopping the Tool: Release the trigger to stop the tool. Disconnect the air supply when finished or before making any adjustments.
