3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully unpack the gateway and inspect for any signs of damage. Ensure all components listed in the packaging are present.
3.2 Physical Installation
Mount the gateway using the provided DIN35 rail clips or positioning holes in a suitable industrial environment. Ensure adequate ventilation around the device.
3.3 Power Connection
Connect the DC 8-28V power supply to the designated power input terminal on the gateway. Ensure the power source meets the specified voltage requirements.
3.4 Network Connection
Connect an Ethernet cable to either the WAN or LAN port. The gateway features automatic switching between these ports. For initial setup, a direct connection to a computer or a network with DHCP is recommended.
3.5 Indicator Lights
Observe the hardware indicators for status confirmation during setup.

Figure 1: Hardware Indicators. This image displays the various indicator lights on the gateway, including PWR (Power), SYS (Network), TXD (Data Down), RXD (Data Up), LINK (Link), ETH (Network), and WLAN (Wireless Working). Each indicator provides visual feedback on the gateway's operational status.
- PWR: Power Indicator. Illuminates when the device is powered on.
- SYS: System/Network Indicator. Indicates system status or network activity.
- TXD: Data Down Indicator. Flashes when data is being transmitted downstream.
- RXD: Data Up Indicator. Flashes when data is being received upstream.
- LINK: Link Indicator. Shows the status of the network link.
- ETH: Ethernet Network Indicator. Indicates Ethernet port activity.
- WLAN: Wireless Working Indicator. Shows the status of wireless operations.
4. Operating
4.1 Initial Configuration
Access the gateway's web interface via a connected computer to configure network settings, LoRaWAN parameters, and server connections. Refer to the separate software configuration guide for detailed steps.
4.2 LoRaWAN Network Integration
The gateway acts as a concentrator, forwarding data from LoRaWAN end nodes to an application server. It is compatible with various standard LoRaWAN network servers.

Figure 2: LoRaWAN Network Interoperability. This diagram illustrates how the gateway connects various end nodes (e.g., pet tracking, smoke alarm, water meter, vending machine, trash container, gas monitoring) to a network server via 3G/Ethernet backhaul, demonstrating its role in a LoRaWAN ecosystem.
4.3 Server Access
The gateway supports connection to popular LoRaWAN servers.

Figure 3: LoRaWAN Server Access. This image visually represents the gateway's capability to connect to various standard LoRaWAN servers, including TTN, Tencent, and open-source Chirpstack, as well as supporting the custom Ali ALINK protocol.
Ensure the gateway is configured with the correct server address and authentication credentials for seamless data transmission.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean the exterior of the gateway with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents that could damage the casing or internal components.
5.2 Environmental Considerations
Ensure the gateway is operated within its specified temperature and humidity ranges. Maintain proper ventilation to prevent overheating, especially in enclosed industrial settings.
5.3 Firmware Updates
Periodically check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates. Keeping the firmware updated ensures optimal performance, security, and access to new features.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 No Power
- Symptom: PWR indicator is off.
- Action: Check the power supply connection and ensure the power source is active and within the DC 8-28V range.
6.2 No Network Connection
- Symptom: ETH or LINK indicators are off or flashing irregularly.
- Action: Verify the Ethernet cable connection. Check the network settings in the gateway's configuration interface. Ensure the connected network device (router/switch) is functioning correctly.
6.3 LoRaWAN Communication Issues
- Symptom: TXD/RXD indicators are not flashing, or end nodes are not connecting.
- Action: Confirm the gateway's LoRaWAN frequency and channel settings match those of the end nodes. Verify the connection to the LoRaWAN server and check server logs for errors. Ensure antennas are properly connected.
6.4 Device Unresponsive
- Symptom: Gateway does not respond to commands or web interface access.
- Action: Perform a power cycle (disconnect and reconnect power). If the issue persists, consider a factory reset (refer to the software configuration guide for instructions), but be aware this will erase all custom settings.
