Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your washing machine. This model is designed for freestanding installation.

1. Unpacking

Remove all packaging materials, including the polystyrene base and any protective film. Ensure all transit bolts and packing materials are removed from the drum and machine interior before first use. Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.

2. Placement and Leveling

Place the washing machine on a flat, stable floor. Use a spirit level to ensure the machine is perfectly level. Adjust the adjustable feet as necessary to prevent vibrations during operation.

3. Water Connection

Connect the water inlet hose to a cold water tap with a 3/4" thread. Ensure the connection is tight to prevent leaks. Do not use old hoses; always use the new hoses supplied with the appliance.

4. Drain Connection

Position the drain hose correctly, either into a standpipe or over the edge of a sink, ensuring it is securely fastened to prevent displacement during draining. The height of the drain point should be between 65 cm and 100 cm from the floor.

5. Electrical Connection

Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage and frequency match the specifications on the rating plate of the appliance (220 Volts). Do not use extension cords or multiple adapters.

6. First Use

Before washing laundry, run an empty wash cycle at 60°C with a small amount of detergent to clean the drum and remove any manufacturing residues.

Operating Instructions

This section guides you through the daily operation of your Whirlpool washing machine.

1. Loading Laundry

Open the top lid of the washing machine. Ensure the drum flaps are open. Load laundry loosely into the drum, making sure not to overload it. The maximum capacity is 6 kg. Close the drum flaps and then the top lid securely.

After selecting a program, you can choose additional options using the buttons on the control panel. Common options include:

  • Delayed Start: Postpones the start of the wash cycle.

  • Spin Speed: Adjusts the spin speed up to 1200 rpm.

5. Starting the Cycle

Press the Start/Pause button to begin the selected wash cycle. The indicator light will illuminate, and the machine will start filling with water.

6. Ending the Cycle

At the end of the cycle, the machine will signal completion. Open the lid and remove your laundry promptly to prevent wrinkles and odors. Unplug the machine from the power outlet when not in use.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your washing machine.

1. Cleaning the Exterior

Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they can damage the glossy finish.

2. Cleaning the Detergent Dispenser

Periodically remove and clean the detergent dispenser drawer under running water to prevent residue buildup. Use a brush if necessary to remove stubborn deposits.

3. Cleaning the Drain Filter (if applicable)

Consult your specific model's diagram for the location of the drain filter. Regularly clean the filter to remove lint, coins, or other small objects that may obstruct drainage. Ensure the machine is unplugged and drain any residual water before opening the filter cover.

4. Drum Cleaning

Run a maintenance wash cycle (e.g., a hot wash with no laundry and a descaling agent or washing machine cleaner) once a month to prevent odors and mold buildup in the porcelain enamel drum.
