3. Installation

3.1 Pre-Installation Considerations

  • Ducting: This unit requires external ducting. The exhaust outlet is 7 inches round, with a 6-inch reducer included. For optimal performance and safety, rigid metal ducting is recommended over flexible ducting.
  • Mounting Height: Ensure adequate clearance between the cooking surface and the bottom of the range hood. Refer to local building codes for specific requirements.
  • Electrical: A dedicated 120V AC, 60Hz electrical circuit is required.

3.2 Mounting the Range Hood

  1. Use the provided installation instruction template to mark the mounting holes on the cabinet or wall.
  2. Drill pilot holes for the mounting screws.
  3. Secure the range hood to the underside of the cabinet using the provided screws. It is recommended to have two people for this step due to the unit's weight and size.

3.3 Ducting Connection

  1. Attach the damper to the exhaust outlet on the top or rear of the range hood.
  2. Connect the duct pipe to the range hood's exhaust outlet. Use the 6-inch adapter if your existing ductwork is 6 inches.
  3. Route the ducting to the exterior of the building, ensuring minimal bends for efficient airflow. Seal all duct connections with appropriate duct tape.
