3.2 Charging the Battery

The PF2L Range Finder is equipped with a built-in lithium battery. Before first use, ensure the device is fully charged. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the charging port on the range finder and plug the other end into a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The charging indicator will show the charging status and turn off when fully charged.

3.3 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press the Power/Measurement button (usually located on the top of the device). The display will illuminate.
  • To Power Off: The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery. Alternatively, press and hold the Power/Measurement button for a few seconds to manually turn it off.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Distance Measurement

To measure a distance, aim the range finder at your target and press the Power/Measurement button. The measured distance will be displayed on the internal LCD. For continuous scanning, press and hold the Power/Measurement button while sweeping across multiple targets.

4.2 Understanding the Display

The internal display provides various pieces of information:

  1. Battery Level: Indicates the remaining battery charge.
  2. Distance: The measured distance to the target.
  3. Aiming Reticle: The crosshairs used to target your object.
  4. Vertical Height (I): Displays the vertical height difference to the target.
  5. Angle (∠): Shows the angle of inclination or declination to the target.

4.3 Switching Measurement Units (Feet/Meters/Yards)

To switch between Feet (ft), Meters (m), and Yards (Yd), locate the unit switch button (often labeled 'MODE' or with an arrow icon) and press it briefly. The unit displayed on the screen will change accordingly.

4.4 Flag Lock with Vibration

In Golf Flagpole Mode, aim at the flagstick. The device will prioritize the closest object (the flag) and vibrate once it locks on, confirming the measurement. This helps to avoid accidentally measuring objects behind the flag.

4.5 Slope Switch

The PF2L features a physical slope switch. Sliding this switch will enable or disable the slope compensation feature. When enabled, the device will provide an adjusted distance taking into account the incline or decline to the target. When disabled, it will provide the direct line-of-sight distance, which is compliant with tournament rules.

4.6 Magnetic Mount

The integrated magnetic strip allows for convenient and secure attachment of the range finder to metal surfaces, such as the frame of a golf cart or a golf club, for quick access during play.

  • Lenses: Use a soft, clean microfiber cloth specifically designed for optics. Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust or smudges. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Body: Wipe the body of the range finder with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using solvents or strong detergents.

5.2 Storage

When not in use, store the range finder in its protective carrying pouch in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the device from the pouch if it is damp to allow it to air dry completely before storing.
