5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjusting Volume

Press the volume button on the side of the receiver to cycle through the 5 available volume levels. The lowest setting (0dB) provides a silent LED flash alert only, suitable for quiet environments or for individuals with hearing impairment.

5.2 Changing Chime Tone

Press the tune button on the side of the receiver to cycle through the 32 available chime tones. The receiver will play each tone as you press the button. The last selected tone will be saved automatically.

5.3 System Operation

Once the sensor is paired and mounted, when the door or window it is attached to opens (separating the two sensor parts), the sensor will send a wireless signal to the receiver. The receiver will then play the selected chime tone and flash its LED indicator according to the set volume level.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement (Sensor)

The door sensor is powered by a battery (type not specified in product details, typically A23 12V or CR2032). When the sensor's LED indicator no longer flashes or the signal becomes unreliable, it is time to replace the battery. To replace:

  1. Carefully open the sensor casing using the provided screwdriver or a small flat-head screwdriver.
  2. Remove the old battery and insert a new one, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the sensor casing securely.
  4. Test the sensor by separating its parts to ensure it triggers the receiver.

6.2 Cleaning

Wipe the receiver and sensor units with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the surface or internal components.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Chime from Receiver:
    • Ensure the receiver is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Check if the receiver's volume is set to an audible level (not 0dB).
    • Verify that the sensor and receiver are paired correctly (refer to Section 4.1).
    • Replace the battery in the sensor if its LED does not light up when triggered.
  • Short Working Range:
    • Ensure there are no major obstructions (thick walls, large metal objects) between the sensor and receiver.
    • Relocate the receiver to a more central position or closer to the sensor.
    • Avoid placing the receiver near other electronic devices that may cause interference.
    • A review mentioned a range issue at 30ft, while the product specifies 500ft. Environmental factors can significantly impact wireless range.
  • Sensor Not Triggering:
    • Check the alignment of the two sensor parts. They must be close enough (within 7-8mm) when the door/window is closed and separate clearly when opened.
    • Ensure the sensor battery is not depleted.
    • Re-pair the sensor with the receiver (refer to Section 4.1).
  • Receiver LED Flashes but No Sound:
    • The volume might be set to 0dB (silent mode). Increase the volume using the volume button.
