2. Safety Information
Operating a generator safely is paramount. Failure to follow these safety instructions can result in serious injury, carbon monoxide poisoning, electric shock, or fire.
2.1 Carbon Monoxide Hazard
Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, and poisonous gas. Breathing carbon monoxide can cause nausea, dizziness, fainting, or death. NEVER operate the generator inside any building, garage, shed, or other enclosed area. Always operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far away from windows, doors, and vents that could allow exhaust fumes to enter occupied spaces.
2.2 Fuel Safety
- Petrol is highly flammable and its vapors are explosive. Handle fuel with extreme care.
- Store fuel in an approved container in a well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources.
- Do not refuel the generator while it is running or hot. Allow the engine to cool before adding fuel.
- Avoid spilling fuel. If fuel is spilled, wipe it up immediately and ensure the area is dry before starting the generator.
2.3 Electrical Safety
- Do not operate the generator in wet conditions, such as rain or snow.
- Ensure all electrical connections are secure and in good condition.
- Do not overload the generator. Refer to the specifications for maximum wattage.
- Always use properly grounded extension cords and appliances.

4. Setup
Before first use, proper setup is essential for the generator's performance and longevity.
4.1 Adding Engine Oil
The generator is shipped without engine oil. You must add the correct amount of engine oil before starting. Use a high-quality 4-stroke engine oil (e.g., SAE 10W-30). Refer to the oil capacity in the specifications section.
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
- Remove the cap and, using the provided oil funnel, slowly add the recommended amount of oil.
- Check the oil level with the dipstick; do not overfill.
- Securely replace the oil fill cap.
4.2 Adding Fuel
Use fresh, unleaded petrol with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use E85 or any other fuel containing more than 10% ethanol.
- Ensure the generator is turned OFF and cool.
- Unscrew the fuel cap.
- Carefully pour petrol into the fuel tank, avoiding overfilling. Leave a small air gap at the top.
- Securely replace the fuel cap.
4.3 Grounding the Generator
For safety, it is recommended to ground the generator. Connect a heavy-gauge wire from the generator's ground terminal to a suitable earth ground (e.g., a metal rod driven into the ground).
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Starting the Generator
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface outdoors, away from any enclosed spaces.
- Turn the fuel cap vent lever to the "ON" position.
- Turn the main switch to the "ON" position.
- If the engine is cold, move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position.
- Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, slowly move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
- Allow the generator to run for at least two minutes before connecting any electrical loads to ensure stable power output. The "Output Ready" indicator light should illuminate.
5.2 Eco Mode Operation
The Eco Mode feature automatically adjusts engine speed to match the load, improving fuel efficiency and reducing noise levels. To activate Eco Mode, switch the "Low Idle" switch to the "ON" position. The Eco Mode indicator light will illuminate. For maximum power or when starting high-load appliances, switch Eco Mode "OFF".
5.3 Connecting Electrical Devices
Once the generator is running stably and the "Output Ready" light is on, you can connect your devices to the appropriate outlets (AC 230V, DC 12V, or USB). Ensure the total wattage of connected devices does not exceed the generator's rated continuous wattage.
5.4 Parallel Operation (Optional)
For increased power output, two compatible AIVOLT inverter generators can be connected in parallel using a parallel kit (sold separately). Refer to the parallel kit's instructions for detailed connection procedures.

5.5 Shutting Down the Generator
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Turn the main switch to the "OFF" position.
- Turn the fuel cap vent lever to the "OFF" position to prevent fuel leakage during transport or storage.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your generator.
6.1 Engine Oil Change
Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 50 hours or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
- Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then shut it down.
- Place a drain pan under the oil drain plug.
- Remove the oil drain plug and oil fill cap to allow the oil to drain completely.
- Replace the drain plug and refill with new, recommended engine oil using the oil funnel.
- Check the oil level and replace the oil fill cap.
6.2 Spark Plug Inspection and Replacement
Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours or annually. Clean or replace as necessary using the provided spark plug wrench.
6.3 Air Filter Cleaning
Check the air filter regularly and clean it more frequently if operating in dusty conditions. Wash the foam element in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow to dry completely before reinstallation.
6.4 Storage
For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank and carburetor, or add a fuel stabilizer. Change the engine oil and clean the generator thoroughly. Store in a clean, dry place.
7. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine does not start | No fuel; Low oil level; Choke not set correctly; Spark plug issue; Main switch OFF. | Add fuel; Add oil; Adjust choke; Inspect/clean/replace spark plug; Turn main switch ON. |
| Engine starts but cuts out | Low oil level; Overload; Fuel cap vent closed; Carburetor issue. | Check oil level; Reduce load; Open fuel cap vent; Consult service for carburetor. |
| No power output | Overload; Output Ready light not on; Circuit breaker tripped. | Reduce load; Allow generator to stabilize (2 mins); Reset circuit breaker. |
| Overload indicator on | Connected devices exceed generator capacity. | Disconnect all devices, restart generator, connect devices one by one ensuring total load is within limits. |
| Low Oil indicator on | Engine oil level is too low. | Shut down generator immediately and add engine oil. |
