3. Setup

3.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

3.2 Connecting the Controller

1. Power Connection: Connect the IEC power cable to the Rane FOUR and a suitable power outlet.
2. USB Connection: Use one of the provided USB 2.0 cables to connect the Rane FOUR to your computer. The unit features two USB laptop connections for seamless DJ changeovers.
3. Audio Outputs: Connect your main speakers to the RCA Main or XLR Main outputs. For booth monitoring, use the 1/4" Booth/Zone outputs.
4. Microphone Inputs: The Rane FOUR includes two dual TRS/XLR Microphone inputs for connecting microphones.

The Rane FOUR unlocks Serato DJ Pro with DVS and includes a voucher for Serato Pitch 'n Time. Ensure you download and install the latest versions of Serato DJ Pro and any necessary drivers from the official Serato website. Follow the on-screen instructions for software setup and activation using the provided voucher.

4.1 Stems Control

The Rane FOUR is optimized for Serato Stems, offering dedicated controls for advanced creative mixing.

• Dedicated Buttons: Use the independent Acapella and Instrumental buttons for instant access to vocal and instrumental stems.
• STEMS Pad Mode: Engage the STEMS pad mode to manipulate individual stem elements.
• STEM-SPLIT Feature: Utilize the exclusive STEM-SPLIT feature for advanced stem separation and manipulation.
• STEM LEVEL EQ: Adjust the EQ for individual stem elements using the dedicated STEM LEVEL EQ controls.

4.2 Jog Wheels and Performance Pads

The controller features 8.5" responsive jog wheels and 16 performance pads with OLED displays.

• 8.5" Hi-Res Jog Wheels: These jog wheels provide precise control and feature a central color display indicating BPM, waveform, hot cue markers, deck number, loop size, pitch range, pitch percentage, beat jump value, song key, and time.
• Performance Pads: The 16 performance pads support various modes including Stems, Hot Cue, Saved Loop, Roll, Sampler, and Slicer. Combo Pad mode allows two modes to be active simultaneously. The 8 OLED displays above the pads provide visual feedback for all pad modes.

4.3 Effects (FX)

• 22 Hardware Main FX: Access 22 paddle-triggered Main FX such as Reverb, Scale Down Echo, Recycler, Riser, Filter, Filter Roll, Noise, and Flanger.
• 4 Knob-Controlled Channel FX: Apply 4 knob-controlled Channel FX to individual channels.
• FX Switching: Easily switch between the internal hardware FX and Serato's software FX.
