2. PGN Creation
The DGT Pegasus automatically creates a Portable Game Notation (PGN) file of your games. This allows you to analyze your games, share them with others, or review your play for improvement.
3. Board Calibration
If the board experiences issues recognizing pieces or moves, recalibration may be necessary. To calibrate, remove all pieces from the board, press the designated calibration button (refer to the quick start guide for exact location), wait for the indicator lights to confirm, and then replace the pieces. This process ensures accurate piece recognition.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
To clean the DGT Pegasus board and pieces, use a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the electronic components and surface finish.
2. Battery Care
To prolong the life of the internal lithium battery, avoid fully discharging it frequently. Recharge the board when the battery indicator suggests low power. Store the board in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
Troubleshooting
- Connection Issues: If the board fails to connect via Bluetooth, ensure the board is charged, turned on, and within range of your device. Try restarting both the board and your mobile device. If issues persist, attempt to "forget" the device in your Bluetooth settings and re-pair.
- Piece Recognition Problems: If the board is not recognizing moves or pieces correctly, perform a calibration as described in the "Operating Instructions" section. Ensure pieces are placed firmly and accurately on the center of the squares.
- Charging Problems: If the board is not charging, ensure you are using the original USB cable provided with the product. Verify that the power source is functional. If the issue continues, contact DGT support.
- App Functionality: Ensure your DGT Chess app is updated to the latest version. Check your device's operating system for any pending updates.
