The Fanvil X303G features a robust plastic casing in black. Key components include the 2.4-inch LCD color display, a full numeric keypad, dedicated function keys for common tasks, and a navigation cluster for menu interaction. The phone supports HD audio for clear voice communication.
Setup
Assembling the Phone
- Attach the Stand: Align the stand with the slots on the back of the phone unit and push firmly until it clicks into place.
- Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset port on the phone unit (usually marked with a handset icon).
Network and Power Connection
The X303G supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), simplifying cabling. If PoE is not available, a separate power adapter (not included in all packages) will be required.
- Connect to Network: Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the LAN port on the back of the phone (marked with a network icon) and the other end into a network switch or router.
- Power On:
- With PoE: The phone will power on automatically once connected to a PoE-enabled network port.
- Without PoE: Connect a compatible 5V/1A DC power adapter (if applicable) to the power port on the back of the phone.
Initial Configuration
Upon first boot, the phone will attempt to obtain an IP address via DHCP. Your network administrator will provide the necessary SIP account details for registration.
- Access Menu: Press the Menu button on the phone.
- Navigate to Accounts: Use the navigation keys to find "Accounts" or "SIP Settings".
- Enter Account Details: Input the SIP server address, SIP user ID, authentication ID, and password provided by your VoIP service provider or IT department.
- Save Settings: Confirm and save the configuration. The phone should register with the SIP server, indicated by a status icon on the screen.
Operating the Phone
Basic Call Functions
- Making a Call:
- Pick up the handset or press the Speaker button.
- Dial the desired number using the keypad.
- Press the Dial or # button to initiate the call.
- Answering a Call:
- Pick up the handset, or press the Speaker button, or press the flashing line key.
- Ending a Call:
- Hang up the handset or press the End Call button.
- Adjusting Volume: Use the Volume +/- buttons during a call to adjust handset, speaker, or headset volume.
Advanced Features
- Call Hold: During an active call, press the Hold button. Press it again to resume the call.
- Call Transfer:
- During an active call, press the Transfer button. The current call will be put on hold.
- Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
- Once the second party answers (Attended Transfer) or immediately after dialing (Blind Transfer), press the Transfer button again.
- 6-Party Local Conferencing:
- During an active call, press the Conf (Conference) button. The current call will be put on hold.
- Dial the number of the next participant and wait for them to answer.
- Press the Conf button again to add them to the conference.
- Repeat for up to 6 participants.
- Do Not Disturb (DND): Press the DND button to activate or deactivate. When active, incoming calls will be redirected or sent to voicemail.
- Phonebook: Press the Contact button to access your local phonebook (capacity: 1000 entries). Use navigation keys to select and dial contacts.
- Call Log: Press the Call Log button to view missed, received, and dialed calls.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Phone
- Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the phone's surface and screen.
- For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
- Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the plastic and screen.
- Ensure no liquid enters the phone's openings.
General Care
- Keep the phone away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture.
- Avoid dropping the phone or subjecting it to strong impacts.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the phone; this will void the warranty.
