3. Setup Guide

3.1 Unboxing and Initial Assembly

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Ensure all parts are present: feeder base, food hopper, lid, stainless steel bowl, power adapter, and desiccant bag.
  3. Insert the stainless steel bowl into the black base.
  4. Place the food hopper onto the feeder base, ensuring it is securely seated.
  5. Insert the desiccant bag into its designated slot under the lid to keep food fresh.
  6. Close the lid securely. The lid has a locking mechanism to prevent accidental opening by pets.

3.2 Powering the Device

The Petory Automatic Cat Feeder supports dual power supply: a built-in rechargeable Li-Ion battery and a power adapter.

  • Using the Power Adapter: Plug the power adapter into the feeder and then into a wall outlet. This is the primary power source.
  • Using the Built-in Battery: The feeder comes with a built-in rechargeable battery. Ensure it is fully charged for optimal performance and as a backup during power outages. The battery can last up to 3 months on a full charge.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Food Reservoir

  1. Press the two buttons on the lid to unlock and open it.
  2. Pour dry pet food (kibble under 0.7 inches in diameter) into the hopper.
  3. Close the lid securely until it clicks into place.

4.2 Setting the Current Time

To ensure accurate feeding schedules, set the current time on the feeder.

4.3 Programming Feeding Schedules

The feeder allows you to program up to 6 meals per day with customizable portion sizes.

  • Press the 'Setting' button to enter programming mode.
  • Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the meal time and portion size (1-50 portions, 10g/portion).
  • Press 'Setting' again to move to the next meal setting.
  • Long press 'Setting' to save and exit programming mode.

4.4 Manual Feeding

To dispense food manually outside of the programmed schedule:

  • Ensure the device is unlocked. If locked, press and hold the '+' and '-' buttons simultaneously until you hear a beep.
  • Press the '+' button to dispense one portion of food.

4.5 Locking and Unlocking the Feeder

The feeder features a lock function to prevent accidental changes or pet interference.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

  • The hopper and stainless steel bowl are detachable and dishwasher-safe for thorough cleaning.
  • Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth. Do NOT submerge the main unit in water.
  • Replace the desiccant bag monthly to maintain food freshness. Recommended size: 1.77 x 2.36 inches.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Feeder not dispensing food: Check if the food chute is blocked by excess food. The app will notify you if there's a blockage. Ensure the food reservoir is not empty.
  • Display not working/Feeder not powering on: Check the power adapter connection. If using battery, ensure it is charged.
  • Food portions are incorrect: Verify the portion settings in the programming mode. Ensure kibble size is under 0.7 inches. Consider replacing the food rotor with a 5g version if 10g portions are too large (Model B0BZNTGNNS).
  • Lid not locking: Ensure the lid is properly aligned and press firmly on both buttons until it clicks into place.
